S’well Water Bottle Review

March 30, 2011 By Shelley Zurek

Thinking about the perfect gift for

Grads , Dads, and Moms on Father’s Day? Mother’s Day? Easter?

s'well bottle

S’well bottles are the answer! Merging fashion, a charitable cause, and functionality, S’well is a perfect gift for active men, teens, and moms on the go! Women over 45 will have a riot trying to decide which color to buy for themselves, their guys, their teens, or their little ones!  S’well bottle represents a new advancement in metal water bottle insulation, with its ability to keep cold beverages cold and hot ones hot longer. The bottles are stainless steel and are virtually unbreakable, creating a bottle worthy of consumers’ mobile lifestyles. The sleek design makes it easy to shop for the great men in your life. The insulation of the s’well water bottle review means the bottle doesn’t sweat, so tell your man not to sweat it, just carry S’well and simplify his life!  Next time your man is late for work, he can easily store his S’well in a computer bag without the hassle of condensation on electronic devices. Best of all, S’well bottles come in 7 sexy colors, like “Manly Midnight Black” and “Silver Lining”.

The best part is that S’well has teamed up with WaterAid, a non-profit organization that for the past 30 years has been working to deliver water solutions to world’s poorest communities. Every bottle sold provides a year supply of water for someone in need, and every five bottles sold provides a lifetime supply. Water is essential for life, but one billion people, one sixth of the world’s population, do not have safe access to it. To address this crisis, for every S’well bottle sold, 10% percent of the proceeds are donated to this charity.

Still Blonde small The Chief Blonde Remarks: We have previously reviewed and featured s’well water bottle review in our 2010 Gift that Give Back Holiday Gift Guide.   At the time, I had no idea how much I would use this great bottle.  Whenever I am getting into the car for any extended time (with the price of gas, it’s not too often!), I have my S’well bottle right there with me.  The Blue Color (now named Ocean Blue in their fantastic contest where they let the fans name all of the colors!)  just makes me silly happy.  The water stays “Brain Freeze” cold when I load the bottle up with ice.  In fact, the ice doesn’t melt for about two days, even if I leave the lid off!  Recently, I received a S’well bottle in one of their new fab colors–“Midnight Black”.  It coordinates perfectly with my Black Oldsmobile Stealth van that I drive (so named because it is so very hard to find in a parking lot–black, boring, etc.).  However, there is nothing boring about the Midnight Black Stealth bottle, I look like a spy drinking out of it, and I feel cool because I KNOW I am not reeking havoc on the environment!  Our family used to go through tons of water bottles, no longer…I and my husband just use the S’well bottle!  Plus, I like the fact that 10% of all profits go directly to a human who will be able to drink pure clean water for a year.  Something I take for granted everyday–God Bless America!

Swell bottle

CAN’T WAIT to win? Go ahead and BUY ONE NOW – you definitely won’t regret it. For sure, you will be the coolest van driving person on the block and you may even encourage others to ditch their water bottles too.

Plastic bottles are everywhere- An estimated 50 billion plastic bottles of water are consumed each year in the US and over 200 billion bottles globally – not for purity sake, but for convenience and portability. Even in this era of conservation of resources, less than 20% of these plastic, disposable water bottles are recycled.

This is why I would love a Swell waterbottle… I always toss out my water bottles and would much rather have one cute one to keep reusing over and over! 🙂

Consuming bottled water wastes precious energy sources- 1.5 million barrels of oil is used annually to produce plastic water bottles for the US alone – enough to fuel 100,000 cars for a year. Imagine a water bottle filled a quarter of the way up with oil. That’s about how much oil was needed to produce the bottle, not to mention the energy used to transport the water from its source.

Years ago I had a client that was a bottled water company, and even their CEO admitted that their water was no better than tap water!

The bottle definitely makes sense to me. As someone who advocates environmentally responsible choices– I adore this bottle. I try my best to not use plastic, but a bottle like this would surely help not give up being able to carry a drink around– and keeping it cold/hot while doing it!
