I am monitoring, not checking, my blood pressure with the Going For Zero Pledge
Today’s discussion of Zero Heart Attacks, Strokes | Going for Zero Pledge is brought to you by Omron Healthcare.

Enjoying Retirement in Good Health, Going For Zero
Walt and I have been vacationing quite often this winter. We visited the Miami area, went on a cruise, visited relatives in Florida and hope to head to Panama City, Panama soon. While a great deal of fun, visiting all these locations requires extensive walking and long days.
The biggest and most unique “folly” at Vizcaya is a piece of fantasy concrete architecture sitting in the water in front of the mansion called “The Barge”.
Walt and I know how important it is monitor our health through regular physicals, but there are many things we can do at home to stay on top of our health as well. One thing we have done recently is to take Omron’s Going For Zero Pledge.
I will work with Omron on their goal to change the public mindset from “checking” blood pressure to “monitoring”. Omron Healthcare, Inc. is the global category leader in personal heart health and wellness technology, with a heritage of over 40 years. Omron is the #1 doctor and pharmacist recommended home blood pressure monitor brand on the market, and the brand is known for its clinically-validated accuracy.
As you can see from the pledge above, it’s all the things that any healthy adult should be doing, especially retired adults like Walt and me. We already exercise, eat smart, drink in moderation, relax but the one thing we don’t do regularly is monitor our blood pressure.

Omron Healthcare’s company mission is Going for Zero™, the elimination of heart attacks and
strokes. The company has pursued its bold mission by developing new heart health technologies, working in collaboration with physicians, launching a national education campaign, and forming partnerships with groups like the American Heart Association to achieve breakthroughs.
As part of our Going for Zero Pledge, over the next 90 days, Walt and I will be taking and monitoring our blood pressure with the Omron Evolv Wireless Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor. I will be bringing the results of our readings and talking to you more about the importance of regular blood pressure monitoring at home and how that can help lead to the elimination of heart attacks and strokes. Watch for three more blog posts that can help you and your family work to eliminate your cardiac events.

I learned you can’t just know your ‘numbers’ for blood pressure but you have to act on them. Act on the recommendations so you stay healthy.
I am an Omron user for many years and in need of a newer unit. This would definitely make my day.
I learn about this movement for one. I like the idea of changing mindsets and being proactive with the use of technology. I also learned what to look for by using the color coded chart. Their is very little chance of missing the problem with that on.

I learned things I like about the Evolv Wireless Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor. I could say it is the wireless part I like most, and that’s nice. I’m afraid the thing I appreciate most is the large easily read digital display. My eyesight, like my blood pressure, could be better.
I learned that clinical accuracy can be done without any wires in a sleek compact design.
I learned that Omron makes a wrist blood pressure monitor. And I learned that normal blood pressure ranges are lower than I thought.
I learned that they are dedicated to changing the public mindset from “checking” blood pressure to “monitoring” which is a better way to think about taking care of yourself.
I like the blood pressure chart. It really helped me understand more about the numbers! Thank you
I take care of patients all the time with high blood pressure. I really admire the steps that Omron has taken to decrease the huge issue of cardiovascular health in the US. I think my favorite thing that they have in the works is the new blood pressure watch -what a neat idea!
my daughter and I were diagnosed with high blood pressure so we need this prize, thanks for the chance.
I learned there are many inexpensive devices you can get to monitor blood pressure and how important it is to do that.
I learned to check my blood pressure at home
My last Doc’s visit I was 120 over 80, they told me that was OK, But according to the chart on the page, “I’m Elevated”
Technology can make an impactful difference in the management of individual health. And I believe that too!

i learned how easy it was to make a pledge to help reduce my risk of a heart attack. I also learned how much stress can attribute to my risk of heart disease and how low fat and low sodium foods is what i should strive to eat.
I learned that it’s not enough to know your blood pressure numbers – it’s time to act on them. Because it is important to follow thru.
