Women over 45: Are you Protecting Yourself against Viruses?

April 10, 2014 By Shelley Zurek 9 Comments

Computer Viruses can affect your well-being

This is a sponsored post.

Viruses Norton by Symantec

 Madly Calling My Son

I used to get a lot of computer viruses, so did my father. When I did get those viruses, I would rely on “free” virus protection, my stealthy internet skills, and my computer geek son to help me out. Then Trojans and Megabugs hit…my cobbled approach didn’t work anymore. My father felt the same frustration.

To be honest though, when my kids were little they managed to get us the most viruses of all. As kids and teens do, they clicked on everything. YOU KNOW how some of  those sites can be, even today!

I tried various paid virus protection products…I bet you have too. I can name one MAJOR piece of software I tried that ground my computer to 1/2 speed at best. Annoying! My father still uses this particular product and still gets experiences virus issues.

Norton by Symantec is the virus protection I use

When I was asked to write this informational post about Norton by Symantec, I chuckled. I have been using Norton now for 5 years, with no issues, slowdowns, or disabling attacks. Talking to you, my readers, about Norton is a breeze. After setting Norton by Symantec up once, it just runs in the background automatically. Occasionally, I see notes that slide out from the right side of my screen (it’s kind of creepy) saying Norton protected me from a Trojan or did a monthly update. Other than that, I don’t even think about my virus protection…and that’s the way it’s supposed to be–just buzzing along, and protecting me when I am online.

What Norton by Symantec does for you — Key Technologies

  • Repels online invaders
  • Protection against the threats of today
  • Faster startup and clutter-free
  • Watches for PC poison
  • Files and memories, protected

Going to be on the computer and internet you need protection. There is so much out there. It’s scary all the info we have on the computer and how we don’t understand how to keep it safe. I’m glad there are products out there, easy to use and will help.

I have antivirus protection on nearly every electronic I use to access the internet with personal information. FREE WiFi spots are the worst, and as a blogger I need to have the protection!

I really just wish all these evil types would just use their skills for good. Then we would live in a wonderful world. It’s good there are quality products like Norton to help combat the viruses.

Its amazing how much more our kids know about computers, eh? I am so slacking with virus protection. I also think about mobile but the PC is also a lifeline to me. I need to get it protected.

Norton is what I use, and I have for years! In fact, when I started up my computer from college, which is going on 14 years old, guess what was on it? NORTON! Sounds like Coupons.com has some great deals for getting a new subscription, and I think one of mine is actually up for renewal.

You definitely need some sort of virus protection on your computer. I think Norton came with Comcast when I got Comcast internet so I use that as well.

That’s how I was first introduced to Norton, too!! Comcast. I ditched Comcast a long time ago but kept Norton…

I am so scared our personal info will be hacked. I embrace my paranoia!
