What is the Most Recommended Sunscreen by Doctors?

June 16, 2015 By Shelley Zurek 296 Comments

What Sunscreen do Doctors recommend most?

Today’s discussion on “What is the most recommended sunscreen” was sponsored by Blue Lizard, an American sunscreen producer.

This is my handsome son playing outside when he was little. PS. There was no water in the bucket!

What is the Most Recommended Sunscreen by Pediatricians and Dermatologists?

When my kids were little, sunscreen producers only JUST started coming out with sunscreen for babies and kids. SPF levels weren’t very high, if noted at all. We usually put a big shirt on the kids, waited until after the sun went down in the sky a little and hoped for the best as far as sunburns.

Today is a whole new ballgame. There are so many sunscreen formulations, it’s hard to sort it all out. Which one should you choose? Why not pick the sunscreen that doctors prefer?

What is the most recommended sunscreen by pediatricians and dermatologists? Blue Lizard is the brand most recommended by pediatricians and dermatologists. Why? Because their products are not only effective, but their Baby and Sensitive formulas are as safe as a sunscreen formula can be.

Do I need to apply sunscreen

The weather in Michigan today was super cloudy. One thing I always wondered about, for myself as a super pale individual or for my children, is do I need to apply sunscreen today?

Blue Lizard Austrailian Sunscreen bottle Changes color in sun

Blue Lizard answers that question for me by providing the answer right on their bottle. Their patented BPA-free Smart Bottle™ changes colors in the presence of harmful UV rays, reminding you to cover up. Even on this cloudy overcast Michigan day, indications were that sunscreen needed to be applied, all I had to do was look at the bottle!

In the 3 oz. size the lid changes color and in the 5 oz. size the bottle changes color. Isn’t that cool? Even a little child would know just by looking at the bottle that they should be applying their sunscreen. How great would this be for kids going to camp?

Here’s just a few reason why Blue Lizard is recommended by Doctors:

  • Blue Lizard is American made (YAH!), but was originally created in Australia where sunscreen standards are the strictest in the world.
  • Blue Lizard has five sunscreen formulas available: Baby, Sensitive, Face, Sport & Regular – All are broad spectrum UVA/UVB coverage (SPF 30+)
  • Baby & Sensitive Formulas are paraben-free, chemical-free and fragrance-free; Face is also oil-free and all formulations are mineral-based containing Zinc Oxide. (Yeah for fragrance-free you know how much I hate smelly things!)  Face is also non-comedogenic, which means it does not block pores!
  • Sport & Regular are extremely water resistant. These formulas meet Australian standards of staying on in 240 minutes of whirlpool water.

Have more questions about formulations, ingredients, application, etc? Head over to Blue Lizard’s website to read their comprehensive list of FAQs. Blue Lizard also takes the time to educate you about the dangers of sun exposure and skin cancer prevention for you and your children with all their great Sun Safety tips.

The one I’d be most likely to buy is the Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Face, because it’s not only a sunscreen, but it’s also a moisturizer that’s good for your skin.

I would like to win because I am in the sun a lot and I currently do not use sun screen. I would love to find a good brand, so that I made it part of my day.

We have a ton of trouble finding a good, really water-resistant sunscreen so I would really love to try the Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Sport 3 oz Tube. Sounds like it could be exactly what we need!

I would like to try the Blue Lizard Face sunscreen. I have yet to find a sunscreen that works for me to use on my face. Most other sunscreens I sweat off and it burns my eyes or it irritates my already oily skin and causes breakouts.

I would love the Blue Lizard sunscreen for face with 50 uv block. I use facial sunscreen every day and have many sun spots that are catching up with me that I would like to prevent from getting any darker!

I would love to try the BLUE LIZARD AUSTRALIAN SUNSCREEN REGULAR. My husband could really use this, as well as myself! He has been treated for some skin cancer spots. I love that it is very water resistant and is 30+ SPF.

With three kiddos in the house (including a 6 month old!) I definitely need some of the baby sunscreen. Their skin is so sensitive and I don’t want them getting burnt.

I would love to try the sensitive sunscreen. My fiance has eczema and is also very light skinned. He burns easily and breaks out if the products he puts on his screen are too harsh. Blue Lizard sensitive sounds like a great way to take care of both his needs.
