Induction Cooking Defined
For this What is Induction Cooking post, the Chief Blonde was provided a review sample. Thanks Fagor!
What is Induction Cooking?
Considered one the most eco-friendly appliances for its efficiency, induction cooktops use 90% of the energy produced. The energy produced by the cooktop is directly supplied to the cooking vessel by a magnetic field. Self-adjusting burners detect the size of the cookware base and automatically adjust so that very little energy is wasted. Remarkable Induction cooking technology warms only the food and pan – not the cooking surface! There are no open flames or heating elements, so the glass surface remains cool to the touch and is easy to clean. So induction cooking is very safe and efficient!
The Chief Blonde Remarks: The Fagor 2-Piece Induction set that we are giving away today is so perfect for a college student on the go, outdoor cooking, camping, tailgaiting, boating or as an extra party burner. You just need a plug and you are set to cook in an efficient and safe manner. Here’s just a few of the features that I adore:
- Burner shuts off if no cookware is detected on it
- It’s compact! Only weighs 5 pounds
- The 2 pc Induction set from Fagor comes with a pan so you can start cooking right away
- Cool display panel that relates to standard cooking terms
- Cooktop has a digital display and a timer
- The cookware gets hot, but the burner does not (Induction heat!)
I have always wanted to try induction heating, and this is certainly a inexpensive way to start learning. Fagor even has induction recipes that you can use to get started.
I have 4 college students and I know they would all love this kind of cooking as it gets food ready 50% faster (as long as their dorms allow use of induction appliances). Fagor also understands that energy and resource conservation is a major concern for students today and has a company initiative in support of environmental preservation through ultra-efficient products, eco-friendly manufacturing and the use of recycled packaging. That ROCKS in my opinion.

This will come in handy for my teen next year, who will begin her journey in college. I’ll look into it … thanks for the recommendation!
This is a really nice piece of cookware and perfect for a college student. Thank you for the review.
Love that it turns off after nothing is detected on it!! I am notoriously known for accientally leaving the stove on :/ Ugh!! This would save my tushie repeatedly!! I also love that it’s energy efficient!! This would be so great for summer when its hot and you don’t want to heat up the whole house!!
In my first apartment, I had a single hotplate to cook my meals! The induction cook top was not available at that time! Now, that I have a stove, I don’t need a single element.
My sister is in her second year of college and could use this as I know she doesn’t eat on campus as much as she did her freshman year.
My friend has one of these and took it on a trip to a timeshare. Three of us women used it and it was a dream to experience how quick it heated up and cooked items.
I can see the use for family trips, college students, or just our everyday household. Convenient and easy to use. I like that it is so small and portable. Sometimes I don’t want to use the stove and heat up the house. Perfect for warmer weather.
This would be amazing for camping trips!! Especially with small children!
The Fagor Enerjuicer –thanks
like to try the pressure cooker because the one I have is sooooo old!
I would like the digital toaster oven…..y bc I want one. Could use a newer one…
The washer-dryer combo. I think this is great. Imagine not having to remove clothes to dry them. Plus the have the drums that rotate in different directions. This stops the clothes from balling up and LESS weinkles. I love it. Sandy Mann
the fully integrated stainless dishwasher! Why, because my burned out and i love this stainless one!
I’d like to try the 3 in 1 cooker.
I really like quite a few appliances, but the cookware is where I was headed. The multiport and the double boiler are just what I was looking for.
Slow Juicer Platino because I need a juicer bad and this one looks like it would be the right fit for me.
I love the induction cooker but I could really use the wine cooler. That way, I can put it in the bedroom instead of having to put my wine in the fridge
I’ve wanted to try canning for awhile. Definitely the canning set!
the 24″ dual zone wine cooler- yeah 😉 44 bottles… enough said
The induction cooker. Because it looks easy. Thanks
