What is Induction Cooking? Fagor 2-Piece Induction Set

January 3, 2014 By Shelley Zurek 430 Comments

Induction Cooking Defined

For this What is Induction Cooking post, the Chief Blonde was provided a review sample. Thanks Fagor!
What is induction cooking

What is Induction Cooking?

Considered one the most eco-friendly appliances for its efficiency, induction cooktops use 90% of the energy produced. The energy produced by the cooktop is directly supplied to the cooking vessel by a magnetic field. Self-adjusting burners detect the size of the cookware base and automatically adjust so that very little energy is wasted. Remarkable Induction cooking technology warms only the food and pan – not the cooking surface! There are no open flames or heating elements, so the glass surface remains cool to the touch and is easy to clean. So induction cooking is very safe and efficient!

still blondeThe Chief Blonde Remarks: The Fagor 2-Piece Induction set that we are giving away today is so perfect for a college student on the go, outdoor cooking, camping, tailgaiting, boating or as an extra party burner. You just need a plug and you are set to cook in an efficient and safe manner. Here’s just a few of the features that I adore:

  • Burner shuts off if no cookware is detected on it
  • It’s compact!  Only weighs 5 pounds
  • The 2 pc Induction set from Fagor comes with a pan so you can start cooking right away
  • Cool display panel that relates to standard cooking terms
  • Cooktop has a digital display and a timer
  • The cookware gets hot, but the burner does not (Induction heat!)

I have always wanted to try induction heating, and this is certainly a inexpensive way to start learning. Fagor even has induction recipes that you can use to get started.

I have 4 college students and I know they would all love this kind of cooking as it gets food ready 50% faster (as long as their dorms allow use of induction appliances). Fagor also understands that energy and resource conservation is a major concern for students today and has a company initiative in support of environmental preservation through ultra-efficient products, eco-friendly manufacturing and the use of recycled packaging. That ROCKS in my opinion.

My mother always made her fried chicken in her old pressure cooker (not electric). It was the best! I would love to try the fagor electric pressure cooker as in all these years, I myself haven’t had one.

I would love to try the Fagor Gourmet European Convection System. My oven really sucks. It never ever heats properly. I was checking these ovens out online and they are very reasonable in price. Thanks!
