First off, I love Wendy Williams! “How you doin?” I think buying excessive is either buying too many presents, or spending too much on a gift/gifts. It could also mean spoiling someone to the point where the gifts don’t mean much to that person receiving them.

It’s excessive when the giver can’t afford it…or is just buying to impress. For kids I think they should get a couple of things they want, then be encouraged to GIVE both in items and their time to help those in need.

I think it gets excessive when you go into debt to afford Christmas! When you think to yourself did I give enough? Of course you did! One gift is great but I think 10 gifts is a bit ridiculous!

Enough is what you can do comfortably without feeling guilty.

I think that every situation is different and even the term “excessive” differs from one family to another. It really just depends.

When is Christmas giving enough? When the fun of giving evaporates and it becomes a chore, you’ve crossed the line!

Gifts just need to be thoughtful, not generic. Those are the best, regardless of the price tag.

When you spend too much and there’s not a lot of utility for the gift. I think presents for kids can be a bit expensive for Christmas as long as they also respect that money came from hard work and know that they can’t always spend a lot for things they want.

I think it is excessive when you are going to that extremes. You need to teach your children to make decisions and that they can’t have absolutely everything they see. It seems like you are setting them up to blow through their money as adults

I think it can turn excessive when you give too many presents and forget the real meaning of Christmas.
