Gift of Sight Individual Vision Plans from VSP– Gift Idea!

Never know what to get a person? Know a person who needs so much and you want to help but how? Have an aged parent who doesn’t need anything? Looking for the perfect birthday, Mother’s Day, or graduation day gift?

Consider giving an individual vision plan. WHAT? Yes, a vision plan! YOU can give a vision plan to a loved one or a person in need, as a special gift.

VSP Gift of Sight Program

VSP Vision Care– the nation’s only not-for-profit vision care company – offers high-quality, affordable insurance plans, even for individuals and families who don’t have access through their employer. Through its Gift of Sight program, you can buy individual vision plans as gifts for people in your life that are in need of vision care! Talk about a gift that someone will actually use!

I am working with VSP to bring you details of this amazing program and they allowed me to gift a plan to someone. I chose a fellow blogger named Rachel. She has had a rough year. Let’s hear what Rachel has to say about the VSP’s Gift of Sight and how it will help her and her young family.

Last April, we lost my husband to suicide. In one awful night, I lost my husband and my children lost their father. To make it worse, up until that point I was a stay at home mom and suddenly, I was thrust into the role of not only primary caregiver but also primary breadwinner.

We also lost all of our insurance overnight since it has previously been through my husband. Luckily, my children are young and they were able to get all of their insurance through Pennsylvania’s state assistance program. Unfortunately, it wasn’t so easy for me.

I had to get my insurance though the federal health insurance marketplace but since I’m on a limited budget I only purchased medical insurance. I was forced to go without vision and dental.

This was especially hard since I only wear glasses. Over the course of the year, my glasses take a lot of wear and tear and I usually have to update my prescription and replace my glasses each year. Paying everything out of pocket is a burden since our budget is limited.

I am beyond thankful for this gift of the Individual Vision Plan from VSP. Not only will it ensure that my eyes are taken care of, but it also takes a financial burden off of me. I can now use the money that I would have to pay out of pocket for other necessities such as utilities, groceries, and other essentials.

I know the coming year will be one of rebuilding for myself and my boys. I also know that we will face obstacles and challenges but because of your generosity vision care is something I don’t have to worry about.

Wow, isn’t that amazing? The Individual Vsion plan from VSP can be a unique (and truly useful) gift to consider for the holiday season. I feel so blessed to be able to pass on this gift that will really impact Rachel.

What is covered under an Individual Vision Plan from VSP?

Coverage includes:

  • A comprehensive eye exam
  • Prescription lenses with covered lens enhancements
  • A generous allowance for frames and/or contacts
  • A wide selection of designer frames
  • Access to a network of more than 376,000 doctors

How can YOU give the VSP Gift of Sight this holiday or anytime?

Whether you decide to gift someone this holiday or for another occasion (birthday, graduation, death of a spouse, financial crisis, natural disaster, anniversary), it’s a thoughtful gift that keeps on giving. Plan prices/co-pays/deductibles vary depending on exactly at what level you enroll but they start at as low as $17/month. Plus, did you know that 1 in 5 Americans have VSP as their vision care provider?

We have had VSP for many years. I love that we know what our benefits are and we can count on getting new glasses or contacts each year. My kids look forward to the new year starting, knowing they will be getting new glasses!

Thanks for the reminder to take the kids to get their eyes checked while we are on holidays.
Here in Alberta they get free eye care until they are 19 but the cost of glasses are not included.
This looks like a really great way to help with vision and eye care.

What a great opportunity to gift this to someone. I’m teared up reading her response, it sounds like she’s been through so much so I know this must have been much needed.

Getting proper care for our eyes, whether for ourselves or our kids, could not be more important. VSP sounds like a great source for everything needed from eye doctors to beautiful frames and more.

What a great idea! This is perfect for those who can’t afford a vision plan — gift one! I had LASIK so I really don’t have a need. I know my husband is interested in getting his eyes checked.
