I re-gift when I know the person wants it.

Rather than re-gifting, we have these things we never used that we have bought and stored away to use later. We are going to clear some clutter (tactfully of course) and gift these unused items to people who will better appreciate them. I have re-gifted more than once though, and in my house, we recycle gift bags too so you see the same ones circulating for about two years until someone trashes it.

Happy National Re-Gifting Day! I hope you don’t have to regift this holiday season. I think we are going to, but we do follow the rules to when regifting. My family really does want to give gifts that people will like, and that is what you should be thinking of…will the other person like it. If so, I don’t see a problem with regifting. Thanks for the statistics!

My favorite regifting experience was when I was so sick (pneumonia) and pregnant with my third child. My sister in law knew I had wanted a toaster oven forever and she got two for her wedding. Instead of taking it back, she gave it to me for Christmas. I will always remember that. 🙂

I don’t regift a lot, but one time we were pretty broke and we regifted a gift card that we had received as a gift.
