Replenish research study now open for application
Today’s discussion of the Replenish research study is brought to you by Replenish.
Ice cubes, fans, cranking the AC, sticking your face in the freezer… nothing seems to help when you are eager to cool down from your hot flashes. They come out of nowhere and occur multiple times a day, leaving you irritable and feeling frustrated. Sometimes, they even interrupt your night’s sleep!
If you wish there were a way to get your hot flashes under control, the Replenish Study might be right for you. This medical research study is evaluating an investigational medication to see if it may reduce the frequency of hot flashes and sweating associated with menopause.
To qualify, you must be:
- Female between the ages of 40 and 65
- Have not had a hysterectomy
- Suffer from several hot flashes a day
Study Participants:
- Receive study medication at no cost
- Receive study-related medical exams (similar to an annual gynecologist visit) at no charge
- Are not required to have insurance
- May be reimbursed for time, travel and other expenses

Thankfully I have not experienced this yet and I hope I do not for awhile. My mom has them though, I do not look forward to that time after seeing she deals with.
I watched my mom go through horrible hot flashes and I am not looking forward to them in the next few years.
Wow, this sounds wonderful… I am still about 6 years off, but I am totally letting my sister-in-law know about this… are their any other health conditions that disqualify you? Like diabetes?

I have some friends that are going through the hot flash thing right now. I’m going to have to tell them about this study.
Thank God, I don’t have hot flashes. They sound horrible! My Gram was miserable when she had them.
Thank goodness I don’t have to deal with this yet. I have a few friends that do have hot flashes, though. I’m going to let them know about this.
I’m going to have to tell my girlfriend about this. She gets TERRIBLE hot flashes.
Another phase of life to look forward to! Are there early signs of menopause I should be aware of?
I am not experiencing this yet, but my mom did in her late 40’s. Is this hereditary? Also, can they be controlled by medication or is this a new idea?
A medical research study is a carefully designed study that asks participants to take an investigational medication under the supervision of a physician to determine whether it is safe and effective for the symptoms of menopause. There are a couple sites that provide a good deal of info on clinical trials – http://www.clinicaltrials.gov and http://www.ciscrp.org as well as http://www.replenishstudy.com.
I’ve just recently started having hot flashes and they’re terrible. I’d definitely sign up for this research study!

This isn’t a fit for me, but would be for my mom. Is it only for certain areas?
Clinicaltrials.gov currently has a listing of the cities where there are doctors who are participating in the research study. You can also visit http://www.replenishstudy.com to see if you qualify and find a doctor nearby. Just so you know, the company I work for developed the website and is helping the pharmaceutical sponsor get the word out about the study.
I haven’t had any yet, but I am getting older and I know they’re coming my way sooner than I think.
Is there going to be a study group in the Los Angeles area, I have a girlfriend who would really be interested in this!

My mom would be a great candidate for this. I am excited to share with her.
Is there a reason you won’t accept those who have had a hysterectomy? I had a hysterectomy but do have an ovary left. I have hot flashes myself though and would love to be able to stop them.
Posts that contain information about a specific clinical study require approval by the study’s IRB (institutional review board) – an independent organization that reviews information to ensure it is not potentially coercive or misleading. Because I am working with the pharmaceutical company sponsor to get the word out about the study, I am required to submit responses to the IRB for review – I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. So sorry for the delay!
Oh I remember when my Mom started having hot flashes. Goodness; the rest of the house froze to death in the middle of winter as she was roasting a live. That is something I am NOT looking forward to facing.
Hahahah Amber. It’s true when you heat up you don’t really care how anyone else feels because your brain just says “MAKE IT STOP!”
Is this an ongoing study? I’m not getting hot flashes yet, but my day will come…

I am so excited that I do not have to suffer from these yet. Ask me in another 11 years and the story will likely change God willing.
Quite true Amy it will happen to all of us lovelies sooner or later. Shelley

Are there specific Cities that this study is taking place in?
Unfortunately at this time the REPLENISH Study is only recruiting patients at select research study sites in the U.S. Please check http://www.clinicaltrial.gov to find out if new sites become available in the coming months.
