Tangled Treasures and Tangled Gardens Coloring Book

by Jane Monk

Tangled Gardens & Tangled Treasures Jane Monk

I received these Adult Coloring Books from Quarto Publishing: Tangled Treasures Coloring Book ( Amazon), Tangled Gardens Coloring Book ( Amazon).

What is an Adult Coloring Books?

I know that adult coloring books sound a little racy. But really these coloring books are simply coloring books that adults enjoy coloring.  They are more intricate with more purpose than a child’s coloring book.

Unlike painting, you don’t need to have the skills or training of an artist to create masterpieces. Thanks to the design of the Tangled Coloring Books, all you need to do is pick the colors you prefer and color within the lines. You’ll temporarily disconnect from the everyday hustle and bustle, escaping to a world filled with creativity, inspiration, and serenity. Color Me Stress Free color me Calm

Tangled Gardens Jane Monk Tangled Gardens Coloring Book by Jane Monk – If the snow and cold stress you out, cozy up to Jane Monk’s Tangled Gardens. Use your brightest pigments to create a warm and inviting garden while you wait for spring to return. I was really drawn to this coloring book. The designs were fresh and did not have a dated “era” feel to me. I felt the 52 designs were whimsical and intricate to color. Tangled Gardens has the excitement of a 500 piece puzzle.

Tangled Treasures 200 Tangled Treasures Coloring Book by Jane Monk – The soothing flow of tangling plus the meditative action of coloring makes this book a treat. I love how Jane Monk shows you different ways to color (shade, layer and straight color) and other techniques (marking, what colors to put together).  The designs are inviting and simply pull you in and make you want to get out your colored pencils…even if you haven’t colored in years. Tangled Gardens Tangled Treasures coloring Book

First of all, I have to say that I LOVE this trend of adult coloring books! When I was in grad school, I kept a stack of (kids) coloring books and crayons/colored pencils in my office to use as stress relief. It wasn’t long before the my fellow TAs were joining me in my office for tea and coloring in the afternoon! I have a small collection of adult coloring books now, and my husband and I like to sit and color in the evening instead of watching TV. What appeals to me about this book is how intricate the designs are, but the pages are not as repetitive as most adult coloring books. My husband is currently coloring a page with fish on it and there are ten or twelve identical fish, and he was stressing a little because he could not decide if he should color them all the same or different, which totally defeats the purpose of adult coloring!

It brings back those fun times of my late 20s when this was the thing to do last. They sold giant posters that we would use colored markers on to make really beautiful pictures. Coloring is so relaxing and eases stress and depression. I highly recommend it.

I love that there are so many details that you can color in this book. I could definitely see myself getting lost in coloring.

I really like the idea of getting pointers on how to use colored markers or pens. It has been years since I colored much and then it was with crayons. I have started again but pencils or pens are definitely different.

    I also like the designs.

I like this book because I am a coloring freak. I have a huge box of art supplies at home, and I color when I’m stressed.

I like this book because according to the reviews, technique is discussed, so you learn before you begin, The pages can be torn out easily and are printed only on one side. And the photos show beautiful designs just waiting for me to bring them to life!

I like that there is step by step instructions! I don’t have a lot of artistic ability and that would help me enjoy this more.
