Vitad Fortified Illuminating Duo

still blondeThe Chief Blonde Remarks: The Skin Authority VitaD Fortified Illuminating Duo piqued my interest from the moment I heard about it.  Now you know, you rarely see skin care or beauty product advise on this blog.  I generally hate to try beauty products because they are usually smelly and make my skin breakout.  However, when I first tried Skin Authority products, I was final able to utilize a skin care line that WORKED and didn’t bother my skin.  In fact, the Skin Authority products that I use…improve it.  As a result, as many of my regular readers know, I am a Skin Authority Ambassador.

Another thing you rarely see on my blog is anything about vitamins or medicine.  I am NOT a doctor (super model YES! But a Doctor?  No!)  So I feel I don’t really have the knowledge to speak about vitamins and medicine.

Yet sometimes, a product is SOOOO obvious that I will step forward and tell you I adore it.  The Skin Authority VitaD Fortified Illuminating Duo is just that product!  Here’s just a few facts about Vitamin D deficiency:

  • 1 BILLION people worldwide have Vitamin D deficiency!
  • Vitamin D deficiency is linked to cancer, cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, autoimmune disease, bone loss
  • Vitamin D may influence 100s of genes

company featureLet’s listen to Celeste Hilling, Skin Authority, CEO as she explains the benefit of  Skin Authority VitaD Fortified Illuminating Duo

I have used both products and I am very impressed so far.  The VitaD Fortified Elixir ($59) goes on very smooth and you only use a few drops.  I can’t really tell what it’s doing for my skin yet but the reviews on this product on the Skin Authority site are like none I have ever seen.

However, the VitaD Fortified Whole Food Powder ($20) is my FAVORITE Skin Authority product to date.  It tastes amazing in food lending food a wonderful mushroom flavor. You can find over 20 recipes on the Skin Authority site (all of which look amazingly healthy) but I like to just sprinkle it right on whatever I am eating.  The powder is 100% vegan plant source with each teaspoon offering 600 IU of Vitamin D!   Yes, it does render your food a brown tinge but the added taste is so worth it!

Can’t Wait to Win it?

I learned that Vitamin D aids in the absorption of calcium, helping to form and maintain strong bones. I always thought it had more to do with helping with high blood pressure and your mood.

I like how Skin Authority and Dole have collaborated to produce products in each of their areas of expertise. As a consumer this collaboration between two trusted companies immediately makes this product interesting. I would therefor be willing to try it.

Vitamin D is a nutrient found in some foods that is needed for health and to maintain strong bones. It does so by helping the body absorb calcium (one of bone’s main building blocks) from food and supplements.
