Peacock Themed Party, Creating an Outdoor Oasis

June 5, 2014 By Shelley Zurek 391 Comments

Create an Outdoor Oasis with a Peacock Themed Party

This Peacock Themed Party post, is a campaign I participated in on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Pier 1 Imports. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and to thank me for participating.

Peacock Themed Party

When no ordinary party theme will do…throw a Peacock Party!

I have always loved peacocks. They are GORGEOUS birds, aren’t they? When planning a party with a peacock theme you want to look to the colors and over-the-top plumage of this marvelous bird as your inspiration. When choosing your plates, glasses, table linens, and decorating accessories be aware of all the beauty this bird can offer.

Create an Outdoor Oasis

This winter in Michigan, our winter was very cold, snowy and difficult. Michiganders patiently wait for spring, but this year we had to wait about three extra weeks! When the weather finally got warm, my family agreed we needed to gather on my veranda and soak up some sun. What better time for the seven of us to enjoy an Outdoor Oasis Peacock Themed Party?

Peacock Themed Party

You will note how I stuck to the peacock party theme by incorporating brilliant hues from the peacock’s tail feathers mixing peacock blue, greens, and golds throughout the table setting.

For my party, I shopped at Pier 1 where I purchased Small Blue Sunburst Lantern ($10) & Sunburst Lantern Large ($15), Aqua Beaded Placemat ($20), napkins ($6), cocktail napkins ($5), Large Peacock ($80), Peacock Pillar candle ($15) and Enchanted Paradise Pillar ($12) . Once I got the items all home and mixed in with all my personal items, I was so pleased with the final result. My guests loved the tablescape as well, with everyone commenting on the large peacock in the table’s center.

You can see from my table setting how easy it was to mix in my own items (tall pillar candle holder, scarfs on chairs and around peacock center piece, dishes, glasses, and wine bottle) with my new items from Pier 1. It’s fun to build your collection of lovely decorating items over the years, don’t you think?

For food, I served my famous BLUE CHICKEN! You didn’t think I was going to serve peacock, did you?

Pier 1 helped me “PEACOCK”

When I started thinking of the theme for this party, I went to Pier 1 and discovered many different outdoor inspirations. I have always wanted to have more peacock dishwear but never could find the right pieces. When I entered Pier 1 this spring, they had some many peacock items that I was blown away. So I had my inspiration and I found my source. It’s cool because to find and purchase Pier 1 products, you can go to their website, buy in store, browse online and ship to store, or arrange In-home delivery!

So beautiful! Great photo; the colors are unbelievable. My granddaughter has gotten into peacocks so when I saw this post I had to click. While she likes the feathers and colors of blue peacocks she saw a white one and really wants one now. 🙂 While the blues are great for outdoors and spring; white would make a great party decor idea for winter. I just wish I could find more white peacock things. Great post…love the plates and table.

The Bamboo Turtle Windchime appeals to me because I love sea turtles and this would make a nice decoration for my patio.
