On the Record with Mick Rock
coming to Ovation TV 8/2 at 8PM ET
Mick Rock premieres with an original spin on the musician profile series
Oh! We are all in for musical treat! Mick Rock is as famous for capturing iconic images of ’70s rock stars as he is today, photographing the up-and-coming of the music industry. He now takes his insights to a new level, hosting a MUST SEE series that takes a new twist on musician interviews. Premiering 8/2 at 8:00PM ET on Ovation TV, I will be glued to my set for his can’t-miss interview with Josh Groban. Special Bonus: We get to hear Josh sing as well!
The premise of the series, On the Record with Mick Rock, is Mick traveling with the musician back to where it all began…their hometown. During the premiere episode, native Angeleno and multi-platinum recording artist Josh Groban takes Mick on an inspiring tour of Los Angeles, relating stories about a high school teacher who mentored him in his success, giving us a glimpse of the after-school Shakespeare program he personally supports and treating Mick (and all of us as well SQUEEEE!) to a moving performance of his song, Hidden Away. Premieres 8/2 8:00pm EST!

In my opinion, the greatest concert I ever experienced was Josh Groban. He sounds amazing in person, he was very personable and he sang forever!
4. In your opinion, what was the best performance (of any kind) that you ever saw? I’d love you to tell me why, if you want.
I saw Aerosmith perform right after his divorce. He was a powerhouse that night and put on an AMAZING show!! He may or may not have kissed some front row ladies lol!!
3. In your opinion, who is the best musician today? I’d love you to tell me why, if you want.
This is a tough one!! I am so unimpressed with musicians today that I tend to stick with the older ones. I will forever think that Aerosmith is one of the best bands that ever lived!!
2. In your opinion, what was the greatest concert you ever experienced? I’d love you to tell me why, if you want
Kenny Wayne Shepherd band when I was 18. My Dad took me and I got a tshirt for my dad and I autographed and the drummer hit on me lol!! I was in awe and shock the whole night!! Talk about star struck!! Now that my dad has passed away I hold this memory so dear. It was so much fun!!
1. In your opinion, who was the greatest Beatle? I’d love you to tell me why, if you want.
I don’t know much about the Beatles but I think Ringo is my favorite!! Any blurbs or quotes Ive read come from him have always been things I like and could agree with. He seems like a good guy 🙂
I actually never listened to The Beatles growing up. I only know their songs from movies or TV. I need to give them a listen so I can answer question #1!
Definitely interested in this! We’ll have to see if we have Ovation – and I’ll let my husband know about – thanks for sharing 🙂
I loved it when he performed at during the Superbowl halftime show a few years back.
4. In your opinion, what was the best performance (of any kind) that you ever saw? I’d love you to tell me why, if you want.
Since I already commented about the Rod Stewart concert, I’ll say Roger Waters (from Pink Floyd). He performed through the entire The Wall concert. It was in a stadium in Philadelphia a few years ago, and the performance was amazing. He brought the music to life with the video images and pyrotechnics. I would love to see him perform again!
3. In your opinion, who is the best musician today? I’d love you to tell me why, if you want.
This is difficult. Can I say Beyonce? I know she’s maybe more of a performer than a musician, but she has the ability to reach across many different types of people which is a huge talent. If I have to go musician wise-I have to go with one of the classics. Since we were talking about the Beatles, Ringo Starr is definitely an amazing musician, and is still touring and making music. People sometimes forget how amazing of a drummer he is!
2. In your opinion, what was the greatest concert you ever experienced? I’d love you to tell me why, if you want.
This is very difficult because I’ve been lucky to experience a great amount of amazing concerts. But one of my greatest concert memories is seeing Rod Stewart a few years ago with my mom. She was a huge fan of his, and passed this down to me. He was an amazing performer and had so much energy! He also played all the classics which was great.
1. In your opinion, who was the greatest Beatle? I’d love you to tell me why, if you want.
This is the most difficult question ever! Each Beatle brought a different sound and personality to the band. I can’t even answer who my favorite is because it has change throughout my life! I grew up on the Beatles (thanks to my mom and dad), and as a kid I loved Ringo (mostly because he seemed so funny, and that totally appealed to me as a kid). As a teen I got really into John because of his activism, and then as a 20-something I liked George because I felt I could relate to him. And of course Paul is gorgeous! So I have to say, there’s no way to pick a favorite Beatle! They’re all a cog in the wheel of the Beatles.
Your not going to believe this but I have never been to a concert before in my life lol. I really wish I would have though.
Hurrah that it’s out already. Thank you for sharing where to find it.
In my opinion, John Lennon was the greatest Beatle because of his songwriting abilities.
4-thousand hand bodhisattva was the best performance i have ever seen. It was definitely visually captivating but what really made the show was the dancers’ determination. They overcame their deafness and showed that there are no limits. I had goosebumps.
The best concert I ever experienced was my first one which was Kiss with Wasps . It was back in the 80’s when I was 17 yrs old. It was an awesome experience and back than everyone had there lights up in the air. Everyone was jamming. It was such a great time that the city told Wasp they couldn’t never come back because you could see their bums. Anyway thanks for bringing back the memories.
My favorite concert was Blue October. It was a nice and unexpected surprise since I was actually supposed to see Okkervil River, but they had cancelled their concert at the last minute. I have always loved Blue October, but I didn’t realize how phenomenal they were live. Plus, they’re one of the most underrated bands.
My favorite Beatle is John Lennon. I believe that he had the best singing voice. He was also a good lyricist.
What is the best performance I’ve ever seen? I have seen online The Jackson 5. I love them as a group and it just gives me chills. I’m young and I love that music in that era. It was so soulful and up beat. It was very cute and relate-able songs.
