MobileHelp offers Moms and Women over 45 "Peace of Mind"–2010 Mother’s Day Gift Guide

May 3, 2010 By Shelley Zurek

Preventative services offer Seniors Protection and Aid

With less than one week left to shop for Mom, MobileHelp offers an on-line solution at www.mobilehelpnow, (starting at $39 per month), to give elder Mom’s more independence with a first-of-its kind portable medical monitoring service.
It’s a well-known fact that women have a longer life expectancy, outliving men by an average of seven to eight years.  According to the CDC, fewer than 40% of adults aged 65 years and older are up to date on preventative services. This is true despite the fact that these services are paid for by nearly all insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid.
MobileHelp is a portable device which integrates cellular and GPS technology to provide medical monitoring services and location tracking for emergency assistance to the user – as well as email notification and online tracking for the caregiver and family members.
It’s the first and only personal emergency response system (PERS) that works both inside and outside the home, thanks to a nationwide cellular network (AT&T) – allowing users (seniors, diabetics, or anyone with medical conditions) to summon help whether they are in their living room, their garden or out to dinner, helping maintain their independence.
The three components to this device are:
Mobile unit:  Features a simple one-button operation and works nationwide with AT&T service.  Weighs less than four ounces and designed to be used outside of the home for independent, active individuals.
Base Station:  Easy installation – plugs into device’s phone and power cords.  Large red illuminated emergency button with an amplified two-way voice communicator with live operator.  If no response, a local emergency unit is automatically dispatched. Also comes with a 24-hour battery back up in the event of a power outage.
Pendant: Weighs less than 1 ounce and is waterproof so it can be worn in the shower or bath where falls tend to occur.  Designed to be used in or around the home.
