Redecorating a Neutral Bedroom with $250 and Midnight Velvet Comforters
Today’s discussion is brought to you by Midnight Velvet. This is a Fashionista Event.

The Chief Blonde Remarks: Working with Midnight Velvet, I had the opportunity to update my son’s neutral bedroom. He has moved out and is now married. We had made a few updates to the room after he left but it was DULL, all beige and the comforter was too big.
So I switched up the comforter, pillow shams and dust ruffle to this beautiful Queen Sized Lisette Smocked Comforter Set from Midnight Velvet. Can you imagine a luxurious queen comforter set for $129?
The placement of the bed in the room was all wrong, it was blocking the door as you walked in. So the first thing we did was move the bed to the opposite wall. After that we decided on using the gorgeous Queen Sized Lisette Smocked Comforter Set as the base for our redo, and then adding chocolate brown and gray blue accents. Here’s how we did the transformation:
Steps for a Neutral Bedroom Redo
- Pick your base color (we choose the cream in the Midnight Velvet Comforter set)
- Choose your accent color (s) ( we chose chocolate brown and gray-blue)
- Figure out what pieces you already have (we were able to reuse the bed, the side table, the arrangement, the vintage picture, the bed throw and the brown pillows)
- Determine what pieces you need to buy (we bought the Lisette comforter set (C/O), the rugs, the blue pillow, the curtains and the curtain rod)
- Lay out the best arrangement for your room (we moved the bed and took out a large entertainment center)
- What is your budget? (we decided to just redo the bed at this point but in the future we will probably add a chest of drawers, a small desk and a side chair. Our budget for this part of the redo was $250 and we achieved that easily.)
Think Midnight Velvet for your Room Refresh or Redo
You don’t have to completely redecorate your bedroom to step up the style and great a fresh look. Just adding a Midnight Velvet comforter can transform and refresh any bedroom. Just look at how great our new guest room looks!

I like the Melissa Bedding & Window Treatments because it matches my decor in my bedroom, plus it would look nice on my antique bed that I was born in.
my favorite set is the 21-Piece Serafina Woven Damask Bed Set, it would look really good with my room decor 🙂
Marissa is super cute. They have lots of nice styles.
The Pintuck Oversized Comforter would be perfect for out room. It would give it that light, airy, comfy feeling we are going for when we remodel!
I like the Champ Des Fleurs Bedding. It would look perfect in my bedroom decor.
I am in love with the Gold Coast Comforter set! I would feel like a queen with it! I can see my self all snug in my bed reading a book with a nice glass of wine when I saw this set!
My favorite is the Flora Appliquéd and Embroidered comforter because it looks so fresh and inviting. And it reminds me of my mom. Snuggling up under this comforter would be almost like snuggling up with her.
I really like the Serenity bedding set, but it isn’t available right now. Hopefully they replace it with something similar!
They are all really nice. And, the prices are pretty decent, too. Some are quite unique. But, I like either the Flora Appliqued & Embroidered 10 piece or the Aviana 10 piece sets the best. Either would look absolutely wonderful on my bed in my bedroom. Love the colors and nice crisp, clean look of them. Thanks!
I really like the Serafina woven damask 21 piece bed set. It is my favorite color, it is stunningly beautiful, and it would look perfect in my bedroom!
I like their Lincoln Park Bedding Set in Sage because it is a fun color and looks so rich looking
I like the Champ Des Fleurs .. It looks comfortable and elegantly homey.
I love the Isabella and the Del Ray. Both have the pops of color that I love. One already goes with sheets I currently use and love for comfort, the other is an interesting mix of colors i would never put together on my own.
Hand-Stitched Cotton Voile Lightweight Comforter & Sham was one of my favorites. There were a couple I would be excited to look at everyday. I have a soft spot for hand-stitched thought. The Sapphire set was also gorgeous and being it’s my birthstone I would love it just as much.
I love the Heirloom Rose Comforter! Love the girly print! What girl doesnt love roses? 🙂 Being machine washable is a definite plus! Simple yet beautiful! Another plus is that it matches my carpet!
I love the Callie Embroidered comforter set! I am pretty obsessed with the combination of coral and blue, and the design is so pretty!
Enchantment Bed Set
I’ve been eyeing the Sapphire Bedding for awhile now! I love that – Would be awesome on my bed! 🙂
I LIKR THE Serengeti Jacquard 10-Piece Bed Set
I really like the Melissa Bedding & Window Treatments. The print and colors are beautiful and would create a relaxing bedroom atmosphere.
