Redecorating a Neutral Bedroom with $250 and Midnight Velvet Comforters
Today’s discussion is brought to you by Midnight Velvet. This is a Fashionista Event.

The Chief Blonde Remarks: Working with Midnight Velvet, I had the opportunity to update my son’s neutral bedroom. He has moved out and is now married. We had made a few updates to the room after he left but it was DULL, all beige and the comforter was too big.
So I switched up the comforter, pillow shams and dust ruffle to this beautiful Queen Sized Lisette Smocked Comforter Set from Midnight Velvet. Can you imagine a luxurious queen comforter set for $129?
The placement of the bed in the room was all wrong, it was blocking the door as you walked in. So the first thing we did was move the bed to the opposite wall. After that we decided on using the gorgeous Queen Sized Lisette Smocked Comforter Set as the base for our redo, and then adding chocolate brown and gray blue accents. Here’s how we did the transformation:
Steps for a Neutral Bedroom Redo
- Pick your base color (we choose the cream in the Midnight Velvet Comforter set)
- Choose your accent color (s) ( we chose chocolate brown and gray-blue)
- Figure out what pieces you already have (we were able to reuse the bed, the side table, the arrangement, the vintage picture, the bed throw and the brown pillows)
- Determine what pieces you need to buy (we bought the Lisette comforter set (C/O), the rugs, the blue pillow, the curtains and the curtain rod)
- Lay out the best arrangement for your room (we moved the bed and took out a large entertainment center)
- What is your budget? (we decided to just redo the bed at this point but in the future we will probably add a chest of drawers, a small desk and a side chair. Our budget for this part of the redo was $250 and we achieved that easily.)
Think Midnight Velvet for your Room Refresh or Redo
You don’t have to completely redecorate your bedroom to step up the style and great a fresh look. Just adding a Midnight Velvet comforter can transform and refresh any bedroom. Just look at how great our new guest room looks!

I like the Pintuck Oversized Comforter Set in the plum color, because of the neat texture and the color is very rich.
I like the Melinda comforter
Down Alternative Comforter – nice and comfy
I love their Carmen Comforter Set, Pillow & Window Treatments! It would be perfect in our guestroom, and makes it look so ‘regal’! And very fall-like. It would add some nice color to our very white, snowy PA winters, too!
I love the Bella Rosa set. The one they advertise is my favorite shade of blue.
Ilike bejeweled romance comforter but I wish it came in pink for my daughter.
I like the 21 piece serafina demask set because I like dark colors and purple is a girly color but not too much.
Oh I really love the Pintuck Oversized Comforter Set! I love the color, but even more so love the pintuck pleats! So elegant looking! Would match my room perfectly and give it a nice makeover!!!
I love the Kalista comforter, because it incorporates so many of the existing colors in our bedroom (and my husband’s favorites, like burgundy) and does so in a classic style.
I like the 8 piece safari comforter set. My house is African themed since I vacationed there twice.
I am partial to the Zaire 7 piece bed set . I is so colorful and bold in its design. I love the black, white and red colors .
The Down Alternative comforter because I want to stay warm this winter. I like that the comforter has lots of baffles to keep the batting in place,.
I love the Pintuck Oversized comforter the most beacuse I love the color and think it would be easy to find coordinating accessories.
I like the Metropolitan 10-Piece Pieced and Woven Jacquard Bed Set & Window Treatments because light colors are my favorite
