Michelle Obama in a Red and White Dress embraces Barack Obama, 44th President of the United States.  This picture was posted on facebook and twitter immediately after the election was called at approximately 11:50 PM EST, November 6, 2012.  Each bore the simple status: “4 More Years”.

As is typical with Michelle Obama, she repeated the Michael Kors dress that she wore on Election evening when the 44th President of the US made his re-election speech in Chicago at the McCormick Center.  Michelle had previously wore the dress  in 2010 an 2009.

Michelle Obama’s Dress worn for the Third Presidential Debate October 23, 2012, was my personal favorite of the entire campaign. This is a Thom Browne Dress (also a repeat) which she accented with a Belt and Rhinestone Bow.

Micheal Kors was the designer for this lovely fuchsia number that Michelle Obama wore to the second presidential debate.  Interestingly, Ann Romney also wore fuchsia that evening, October 15, 2012.

For the first Presidential Debate on Oct. 9, 2012, Michelle Obama wore a Preen dress and suit jacket in bright blue jewel tones.

Possibly the dress most admired by the fashion press was Michelle Obama’s dress that she wore to introduce the President at the Democratic Convention.  The dress was (pinkish) red, white and blue and showcased the First Lady of the United States fantastic arms.  Dress by Tracy Reese, shoes from J. Crew.

I have linked this post to Not Dead Yet Style  And Monday Mingle, to be featured on their Fashion Linky.

Lose one, gain one. First time reader and happy I stopped by. I too am impressed by Mrs. Obama, in so many ways. One of them is certainly that she sensibly repeats great outfits. Can you imagine having the beautiful wardrobe she has and feeling pressed to never wear one of them a second time in public? Hope this is a trend with all women in public life.
Well edited post, Shelley. Thanks for presenting it.

I am disturbed that we are such a polarized nation that a blog post on FASHION worn by an opposing candidate’s wife would tick someone off. We are taking ourselves & politics wayy too seriously, I think. Please do not let this one-off opinion change how you handle these non-political posts. I am very sad for our nation that people think this way.

Hey Renee, as you have requested I will remover your subscription tomorrow. I am sorry that a post on our first ladiy’s fashion so offended you. I did post a note that it wasn’t political at the very beginning. I had a similar post prepared for Ann Romey if she would have been our new first lady. I also have Ann prominently featured on all my pinterest boards. I admire them both for their fashion sense.

Because of a post on fashion? Grow up! As The Chief Blonde stated, this is a post on fashion, not politics. You can’t separate the two??

Kudos to you Shelley for posting this. Mrs. Obama has wonderful fashion sense and I enjoyed learning who the designers of her dresses are.

      Thank you!!

What is so wonderful about Michelle’s clothes is that they look like something many 40+ women would wear and feel comfortable wearing. Of course she is tall and buff which helps too. Her arms, I mean, in my dreams! My company actually makes a sleeveless wicking top we call Michelle after the first lady. Now if I can just get her to be seen wearing our pjs!!!

I just love Michelle’s fashion. She pulls off some bold color blocks with so much ease. You don’t see that on women over 40 often. I think my favorite is the second debate outfit, the Chief would look just smashing in it!
