Kellogg’s Start Simple Start Right Cereal Review

October 15, 2012 By Shelley Zurek 9 Comments

Start Simple Start Right with Kellogg’s Simple Grains

Start Simple Start Right Cereals from Kellogg’s  have only a handful of ingredients plus fortification of vitamins and minerals

I grew up in Michigan, so we have always heard about the wonderful things that Kellogg’s does for our state.  The World Corporate Headquarters for Kellogg’s is located in Battlecreek, MI!

I grew up eating Kellogg’s cereal, not just because it was a Michigan brand but because my family appreciated the ease of cereal in the morning along with it’s vitamin fortified qualities.  My mom’s dad ate Corn Flakes every single morning (he lived to be 86, so he must have done it right!) As a Mom of 4 children, I appreciate Kellogg’s current initiative, a Start Simple Start Right Seed to Spoon approach to their cereals.  This approach emphasizes Kellogg’s cereals that are made from simple grains fortified with vitamins and minerals.  Just 5-7 ingredients other than nutrients…I like that direction!  It’s important for me to know that the cereals my family eats are simple and wholesome.  This  infographic explains Kellogg’s approach to Seed to Spoon.

I enjoy Kelloggs’ cereals as much as my children.  Their favorite has always been Kellogg’s Rice Krispies  (and Rice Krispy Treats when we go on vacation).  To be honest, I still think their favorite aspect is the yummy rice taste coupled with the “Snap” “Crackle” “Pop” sounds of the cereal. My darling Walt is a massive Kellogg’s Raisin Bran fan, he even mixes it with his yogurt!  I tell him he just likes singing that catchy “Two scoops of Raisens, in Kellogg’s Raisin Bran” song.  Did you know now Kellogg’s offers a Gluten Free Rice Krispies?  Yep, they do!   I like the fact that it is made from Whole Grain Brown Rice, as most Women over 45 would.

Don’t you like all the options. Almost half of Americans eat cereal, and it is so good to have choices. Plus, there are so many recipes now to use cereal for. Today is National Cereal Day, and I am a cereal eater. Rice Krispies is a cereal I love, and they even have varieties in it like the Guten Free. Do you still have cereal regularly? It really is Grrrrreat!

If they made an organic variety of any of these Kellogg products, I’d be buying them up like crazy!

I did not know about the gluten free rice krispies! (I wonder how those rice krispies treats would taste – LOL).
Raisin Bran is one of my all time favorites but never thought about mixing it with yogurt. Tell Walt thanks for the idea!

I love cereal. I have it every day for breakfast and sometimes a second time. My favorite Kellogs cereal is the Raisin Bran.

I do like it when a box of food has only a few ingredients on the label.

I use the brown rice Rice Krispies for rice krispie squares. Add a bit of wheat germ and I have no problem if my kids have seconds

We do lots of Kellogg’s cereals around here – we always have. When the kids were really little (ok pre-teens) we did Rice Krispies all the time – both in making Rice Krispie Treats or to have them “talking” in the bowl!

Even my mom and dad are Kellogg’s kids …. even now!

We are a Raisin Bran Family. I did not know they made a Gluten Free Rice Krispies so may try that next.

Good to know that some companies are so careful about what they try to sell to us!
