The Ultimate French Pantry Gift Chest
The Ultimate French Pantry Gift Chest from iGourmet.com ($139)
The Chief Blonde Remarks: Wow! Today is my lucky day (and it may be yours too!) I was sent the The Ultimate French Pantry Gift Chest ($139) from iGourmet.com, North America’s leading online gourmet food website, and “Made in France, Made with Love”, an exclusive partner of the French Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry.
Walt and I had a blast opening this wonderful 6 pound basket and were stunned by the provisions provided. We loved the way all the goodies was packaged in a wooden basket, finished with an elegant dark brown ribbon.
The “Made in France, Made with Love” gift basket showcases the authentic artisan flavors of France, and includes products from six outstanding French producers:
- France de Gourmay® France de Gourmay has been passing on traditional recipes for generations with a passion for taste and love of authenticity. France de Gourmay offers unique spreads, perfect on toast, fruits, and crackers.
- Les Comtes de Provence®
Les Comtes de Provence reveal the story of the Haute-Provence region through the culinary creations of jam. The preserves, made with fresh products and pure cane sugar, are slow-cooked in a cauldron, in accordance with tradition. - Maison Bruyère®
This modern small scale family biscuit factory located in the Midi Pyrenees region, offers a selection of all-natural biscuits confectioned for over three generations. Maison Bruyère carries on a unique savoir-faire in the production of baked goods. - Quai Sud®
Quai Sud finds its source of inspiration in current food trends and culinary traditions from all over the world. A simple preparation and you have yourself a ready-to drink cocktail that you can enjoy at any occasion. - Nectars de Bourgogne®
Nectars de Bourgogne, an innovative artisan fruit juice and gourmet food producer, makes a wonderful range of natural nectars. Based in the French wine region of Burgundy, Emmanuelle Baillard transposed her oenologist knowledge of wine to the fruit universe. - Ready to Bake®
Remarkably easy to prepare, these packets quickly create luxurious and thick French-style cakes. No additional ingredients are needed, just pour the mix, bake it, and let it cool. 10 minutes is all you need to become a French pastry chef.
Walt and I dived right into the France de Gourmay Caviar Aubergine (Olive and Eggplant dip). It was smooth and tasty. Both of us gave it a hearty thumbs up!
This morning I tried out several more goodies from the basket.
The Maison Bruyère Crispy Vanilla Flavored Wafers were divine, like “Hide in the cupboard so no one else can have them” divine (and I did.) The Les Comtes de Provence cherry plum compote was a totally new and unique experience…I love experiencing new tastes. I spread the compote on my seeded toast and I was in heaven. Shockingly, my favorite selection was the Tenderness Tea from Quai Sud, which gentle flavorings of vanilla and gingerbread.
