Vinegar Cleaning Computer Screen Recipe (for Blinds too!)
Keep your Ipad free of finger prints with affordable Vinegar and Distilled Water (Recipe below)
I have to get ready for massive amounts of company coming up over the next 2 months. We will probably have Thanksgiving for at least one side of the family, relatives over after my son’s wedding in December, and then we will be hosting Christmas for both sides of the family. GAHHH!!! But the very first large party I have to focus on is in early November, I will be hosting a bridal shower for my son’s fiance (with 25 guests)!

Get The House Clean
I need to get my house clean for all these events! The first thing I want to focus on is cleaning all my computer screens, tv screens and blinds, but I hate using all those chemicals all over the house. Also, cleaning supplies are so expensive! I checked on Amazon an electronic screen cleaner with a mere 2.2 oz of liquid is $9.34! What? I can’t afford that for all my cleaning. So I discovered that I could make my own COMPUTER screen safe spray for Heinz Cleaning Vinegar and Distilled Water.
- 1 cup distilled water
- 1 cup Heinz Cleaning Vinegar
- Measure out ingredients
- Mix ingredients together
- Place in clean spray bottle
- Label bottle clearly
- Spray on to a clean cotton cloth (old t-shirt or handkerchief), lightly wipe screens.
- You can use this solution on Ipads, laptops, desk tops, or any LCD monitor Screen.
- Do not apply pressure when wiping screens
- Do not spray cleaner directly on screen of computer
- Do not use tissues, toilet paper or towels to clean screen. These will scratch your screen.
- Turn off your monitor when cleaning so you can see fingerprints, cough sprays, etc
- Do not prepare this solution with tap water or mineral water, this will result in white spots/streaks on your screen
- Do not use any solutions that contain Acetone, ethyl alcohol, toluene, ethyl acid, ammonia, or methyl chloride
Other Tips for Cleaning with Heinz Cleaning Vinegar
When I was young, my Grandma used Heinz Vinegar to rinse my hair after it was shampooed. She also used it to clean windows. I guess she was ahead of her time. My mom used Heinz Vinegar for removing water rings (combine with 1:1 with Olive Oil) and she added it to the 1/2 cup of vinegar to the wash to brighten clothes. If you Google “Cleaning with Vinegar” you will find many articles that will point you toward more ways to use this all natural product.
Your vinegar cleaning mixture stores nicely in a spray bottle, be sure to properly label it!
Vinegar provides economy for Cleaning Projects
Women over 45 (and all our younger friends)–This solution shown in the recipe above is so economical when compared with store brands. Store brands run $4.25/0z versus if you use the recipe above with Heinz Cleaning Vinegar it will fun you $00.03/oz .
Small spray bottles work great for travel
I carry a small bottle of the solution and scrap of soft cotton rag with me in my computer bag. I find when I travel that my Ipad and laptop seem to pick up all kinds of debris. This solution quickly cleans both of them up and I don’t die of embarrassment when I show my computer screen to my clients.
Clean your blinds with Heinz Vinegar and Distilled Water Solution (1:1) as well.
I also discovered that I can clean my blinds with the same #HeinzVinegar solution that I used for my computer screen. How awesome is that? I don’t need a bunch of separate cleaners, I can just use this one mixture for several of my cleaning purposes. With as much as I have going on in the next few months, any time saving or cost savings in the cleaning area will be beneficial!

I had no idea that one could use Heinz Cleaning Vinegar and distilled water to clean computer screens and blinds. Thanks for sharing this tip!
I was aware Vinegar is a great cleaner. However, I didn’t know Vinegar could be used to clean my computer monitor. Thank you for the tips!
Never seen or knew they had cleaning vinegar
Vinegar is great for cleaning. I wouldn’t have considered it for electronic screens so that’s good to know!
I was going to say that I hadn’t seen that version of the vinegar in stores but it does say “new.” I want to try it for my screens. I haven’t been happy with other attempts. Streaks, as you say….
Vinegar and water together are amazing for cleaning so many things! Vinegar is a great natural cleaner, but I had never thought about it for rinsing hair. Interesting. Glad you talk about cleaning your computer screen. Today is Clean Your Computer Day, and it’s about cleaning inside by deleting and going through programs and cleaning outside. The computer can be really germy so we definitely want to keep it clean.
I actually do not use vinegar for any type of cleaning. I have heard it is good for cleaning windows. But I have never tried it! I will try it however for cleaning my blinds. I havent found anything that works well on them. Thankyou for giving me another way to clean them..
Thank you for this useful information. I never knew Heinz had a cleaning vinegar! Thankyou for telling me what to use for cleaning my Blinds. I have to do that now so your information came at a wonderful time for me! 🙂

I use vinegar to clean all kinds of stuff, but I didn’t think to use it on my computer screen. Thanks for the tip 🙂
In ever would have thought to use this on my computer screen. Great idea!
Since I had no spray bottle to use, I dabbed a cloth in water and then in vinegar. I wiped down my kitchen window, bathroom mirror, and bedroom mirror. I looked over the results with a skeptic’s eye, and was surprised to find great results. How have I lived so long and never known vinegar and water make such a great window cleaning team?
