My Wonderful Father is 80 today!
No, that must be wrong! This is a man who wears no glasses, can lift his own weight, and only takes one pill a day! Doesn’t he look more like a 65 year old? (Please say yes, because that would make me 38 and I am all over that number!)
Let me just brag about my wonderful father for a minute. With it being his birthday and so close to Father’s day, I feel like I am allowed to go on and on a bit. Dad was an excavator his whole life with his own business. He worked so hard each day, laying pipe and managing a crew of men. As we are from Michigan, he worked in the hot hot heat and the dead winter cold.
Not only was he a great provider for our family even during hard times, he always had time to play with us and work with us. He and I spent three years down at our barn building soap box derbies and another few months finishing and painting my first big-girl car. We always went snowmobiling and sledding in the winter and spent time shooting in our backyard (an open area) in the summer. My dad would often take my brother and go with his brother and father to the local gun club to shoot skeet. Sometimes, even I would get to go along.

What do you get the “Perfect Father” for his birthday or Father’s day?

A smoker/grill like the Traeger® Tailgater Pro Pellet Grill. He sold his smoker when we moved and whenever the sun is out, he stands at the window and stares out. I know he is thinking about smoking some meat. When it’s time to relax, some people garden, some people drink..he smokes meat.
I’d love to get the Cabela’s LSi Spey and Switch Rods for both my Dad & my husband. They both love to fish and they also love to bring along my two sons. Fishing would with three generations would really make their Fathers Day.
I would get my husband a nice GPS because as with most men mine will NOT stop to ask for directions and he often works at new job sites he never has been to which can vary from a hour to 5 hours from our house. This would be very helpful in not wasting gas which there for would save us a lot of money because he is constantly lost and calls me to google map and try to explain how to get somewere instead of just asking someone for help.
I would love to get the Wild River Frontier Lighted Tackle Bag from Cabela’s for my son. He works at a grueling job and loves to fish for relaxation.
I’d like to get the Cabela’s Outfitter™ 10MP Color HD Trail Camera for my husband. He has hinted he would like a nice Trail Camera. It has a good sale price too.
