My Wonderful Father is 80 today!
No, that must be wrong! This is a man who wears no glasses, can lift his own weight, and only takes one pill a day! Doesn’t he look more like a 65 year old? (Please say yes, because that would make me 38 and I am all over that number!)
Let me just brag about my wonderful father for a minute. With it being his birthday and so close to Father’s day, I feel like I am allowed to go on and on a bit. Dad was an excavator his whole life with his own business. He worked so hard each day, laying pipe and managing a crew of men. As we are from Michigan, he worked in the hot hot heat and the dead winter cold.
Not only was he a great provider for our family even during hard times, he always had time to play with us and work with us. He and I spent three years down at our barn building soap box derbies and another few months finishing and painting my first big-girl car. We always went snowmobiling and sledding in the winter and spent time shooting in our backyard (an open area) in the summer. My dad would often take my brother and go with his brother and father to the local gun club to shoot skeet. Sometimes, even I would get to go along.

What do you get the “Perfect Father” for his birthday or Father’s day?

Honestly, I don’t know what I’d like to get him since he knows more about this stuff than I do lol. Specifically anyhow. I’d like to try to get him some hunting gear though. he’s been wanting to go hunting with my brother for years now, but we can never seem to afford any of the gear he needs (including a rifle.). So, after a lengthy discussion with my brother on what he’d need to start out with, I’d try for some of those items.
I’d love to get him the Eagle’s Camp Family Voyager 8-Person Tent so we can go camping!
I would love to get my dad an Advanced Anglers Tackle Bag because he loves to fish for bass and he would use it every day!!

I’d get my husband anything fishing related he loves to fish it may be his favorite escape to relax and get some peace&quiet! I saw some things that would be good for him like the Cabela’s LSi Fly Rods, Cabela’s Men’s Ultralight Fishing Stockingfoot Waders with 4MOST DRY-PLUS™ – Regular & Cabela’s DepthMaster® III Trolling Reels not sure what all these do but I am sure he’ll know what to do with the reels lol.
I’d definitely get my dad the power washer. He retired just a few years ago and misses being the maintenance and engineering wizard he’d been for so many decades. He’s now taken the community pool as his pet project and power washing the patio and chairs is a frequent task. He’s also restoring the historic building on the property and fixing the 60 year old underground plumbing for the pool –he’ll be 69 soon and just dug 7 tons of clay (after cutting and removing the concrete) by himself to fix the pipes for the pool. He did it in 3 days. I think he worked less before he retired!
Dad would love the Karcher 1800-psi power washer because his retirement hobby seems to be spraying the driveway.

He’s a big hunter and he has been asking for new waders for a few years now.
I would love to get Cabela’s Guidewear Men’s Bass Angler Jacket with GORE-TEX for my husband for Father’s Day! It’s a hard day for me, as my dad passed away years ago. It’s also hard for my husband, as his children live with their mother during the school year, so he never gets to see them on Father’s Day. This would really cheer him up!
I would love to get my hubby the Kärcher 1,800-PSI Pressure Washer for Father’s Day. He could use it on his truck and motorcycle, plus, clean the outside of the house with ease. It would certainly make these types of chores much easier 🙂

I would love to get my husband the Anglers Fish-N-Mate! Fishing is how my husband and son spend their weekends, and lugging everything from the car to the dock is a minimum of 3 trips back and forth! This would make things so much easier for my husband!
