Green Garmento Garment Bags Review

April 12, 2012 By Shelley Zurek 147 Comments

The Ultimate 4-in-1 Reusable Garment Bag

Green Garmento

More than just an ordinary laundry bag, The Green Garmento is an eco-friendly, stylish, practical and affordable product that is a viable alternative to single-use plastic laundry and garment bags. Each year in the US, 1.4 billion pieces of clothing are professionally cleaned and an estimated 300+ million pounds of single-use plastic dry-cleaning bags threaten the Earth’s marine and wildlife.  But with each use of The Green Garmento, customers can help reduce the size of their carbon footprint. The Green Garmento’s mission is to help eliminate the excessive amount of plastic that enters our landfills and waterways every year. Even better, The Green Garmento is currently available in dry cleaners and hotels in 17 countries around the world. To learn more about The Green Garmento, visit www.thegreengarmento.com.

THE CHIEF BLONDE REMARKS:  Green Garmento Garment Bags is such an appealing idea!  Who wouldn’t want to reduce over 300+ million pounds of plastic used in dry cleaning each year?  The idea is so simple!  I love how the Green Garmento bags are 4-in-1 as well, that makes it super useful for all your different laundry needs.  I also think that Women over 45 would love this product as they could give it to their college age kids to use for laundry, they could use it themselves for all their dry cleaning needs AND a use that isn’t mentioned..its great for storing winter clothes instead of using plastic.  Isn’t it incredible that it’s designed to go into a hamper frame and that the Garment Bag is washable itself?
I received the Green Garmento Bags in two sizes and the Box Bag .  I immediately put my vintage dresses in the Garment Bags, threw out the plastic…and will never use THAT again.  The Box Bag went into the trunk of my car such that I can re-commit this year to STOP using plastic bags (did you know that LA  just banned use of plastic bags..yeah)!  I was very impressed with the quality of Green Garmento construction (nice sturdy zippers, drawstrings and reinforced shoulder straps).  A nice addition was a Clear window pocket on the front of the bag where the dry cleaner can insert your ticket OR if you are using the bag for storage, you can make note of what clothes you have stored inside.  Yep, I am going to be stocking up on these Bags…next purchase is the hamper frame!  Oh yeah!  Highly recommend!

This is a really good idea for someone that dry cleans. It would be a good idea to have at least one even if you don’t dry clean all the time.

That it is usable as a hamper then a bag to take it to the cleaners.I always like to keep the dry cleaning separate.

It’s very enticing with the fact that it fits a hamper frame (among all the other uses!) I already have 4 hampers in my laundry room b/c I keep everything very well sorted. Specialty cleaning items for the dry cleaner would be a perfect use for this, but to have it in the laundry room with the rest of the sorting!
    Thanks!
