Graphic Coats for Spring with a Modern Twist

March 16, 2014 By Shelley Zurek 18 Comments

Graphic Coats — Abstract pattern and contrast trim

For this Graphic Coats for Spring post, I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Kohl’s. I received a Kohl’s gift card to facilitate my post and as a thank you for participating.  #MC

Spring Graphic Coats

On the runway and in the fashion magazines for spring, you will see the graphic coat repeated everywhere. I particularly love this Simply Vera by Vera Wang graphic coat from Kohl’s spring collection. It was the first piece that grabbed my attention when I strolled into the store. My Kohl’s always has the Simply Vera collection featured at the the front of the ladies section with 3 eye-catching outfits on 3 mannequins. My favorite collections at Kohl’s for Spring included Simply Vera, Dana Buchman and Jennifer Lopez.

Buy it off the dummy

It’s always easy for me to decide what to buy when I go in a Kohl’s store. I usually buy a piece or entire outfit right off the mannequin, and usually off mannequin in the Simply Vera section! I find the clothes on the “dummy” are often the cutest pieces in the collection. Of course, I am more than able to mix in my own twists and supplement with additional pieces of my own.

Update your wardrobe for spring

I noticed several trends as I shopped Kohl’s for spring. As you consider what pieces to add to your wardrobe for spring keep these trends in mind:

  • Graphics and mixed media
  • Pink and china blue
  • Laser cut everything
  • Sheers
  • Nautical stripes
  • Statement necklaces

My Favorite outfit combination from my shopping trip:

The Dana Buchman shoes in this outfit are not only FAB but they are comfortable as well, because they are wedges. The Simply Vera Skinny jeans have just enough stretch to provide comfort and style.  I love the Simply Vera crinkle top for the color and mixed media look.

Check out all the ways I wore this Graphic Coat!

We both chose the same outfit as our favorite. I like the way the blue top and the black jeans go together.

Forgot to mention that I would be most likely to wear #3 but I love all four pics.

I would choose the third outfit with the Dana Bachman shoes as they are so me….and I absolutely love that blue/green top. I shop at kohls all the time, and like you I usually hit the Vera wang section! And I’ve been known to undress more than one mannequin! Lol. Loved seeing these outfits….my second pic would be the first one with the boots as I’m almost always in boots this time of the year and those look great with the coat!

I have undressed many a dummies from the stores in my day because you are right, they usually have on cute things that a majority of the time I end up not being able to find. LOL

That coat is such a multi-purpose piece! I can definitely see how it can go with MANY outfits 🙂

Shelley, you’re adorable, buying clothes of the dummy! If I could fit the clothes on the dummies, I would too, they ARE fashionable! I think I like style #1 the best, but that’s because I live in SoCal, and it feels so Fashionably Winter! Kohl’s is a great place to find the perfect accessories, and even outfits- I bought my wedding dress there, believe it or not!

I love the coat – it has a bit of an Asian flare which I adore and you show it off to perfection in your video with the four great looks. Love the pink accents!
