Hope I’m writing my Flash Dec 7 comment in the right place! lol

Why Christmas/Holiday food makes me swoon and why? The only food that makes me swoon are chocolatty desserts. All things chocolate! Well, actually I’ve never been a fan of baked goods for some strange reason. But chocolate on the other hand….I know it isn’t a holiday food specifically….but you know. 🙂

I make a Lady Baltimore Cake with my figs I harvest from my tree each year for Christmas and it is sooo good that people actually founder over from over eating! I look forward to making it each holiday and always save some back for myself so I don’t have to share!

The one holiday food that makes me swoon is my homemade peanut butter fudge. I swear to you, I can eat the whole pan. I might barf later if I really did, but that’s how good it is.

Anything made with pumpkin. I have a recipe for some pumpkin cinnamon roll cake that I can’t make because I would eat the whole thing!

I like cranberries. When I was little I used to help my mom make cranberries and apples by grinding them p with a grinder that we would hook onto the edge of the table. Just add sugar to taste. That’s it. Those were the best cranberries ever. Now I just have plain cranberries and try to remember mom’s.

My grandmother made Sugar Cream Pie – like brown sugar fudge in a piecrust. It is wonderful and SO rich. When I was in the Peace Corps in the Philippines, she mailed me one. A wonderful surprise for my first Christmas away from home. I have made it a few times and love it, but no one else in the family really cares for it. As a result I end up eating most of it – not good for my diet.

    The Barbie ornament is darling.
