Featured Designer: HSN Twiggy LONDON, Women over 45

March 26, 2011 By Shelley Zurek

Do you remember Twiggy, the uber-thin model  from the late 60’s?

Her look changed fashion and women’s views of their bodies forever.  In 1966, Twiggy burst on to the fashion scene as the world’s first supermodel. With her waif-like figure, boyish hairstyle and striking lashes she created an image that defined an era, earning her idol status among millions of teenage girls of the 60s revolution.

Yet Twiggy, always desired to be a fashion designer.  She never believed she’d be a model as she felt she was much too thin, small and shy.  As her success blossomed in the modeling world she never quite forgot her first desire to return to fashion design.

Twiggy never lost sight of her fashion dream. As the years past, Twiggy dabbled in design, and came to the realization that the best fashion crossed over seamlessly between age groups.

Twiggy Today–Age 61

Twiggy set out to imbue her fashion and accessories line with her free spirit. She didn’t want to take herself too seriously because that’s the last thing she wants from the people who wear her designs.

“I think all clothes should be gorgeous, affordable, comfortable and fun,” Twiggy said. “So many times the fashion industry gets a bit serious, and I think fashion should be fun, especially affordable fashion. Most women love to wear things and they love to get new things. We like to buy.”

With loads of color and embellishment, Twiggy designs fun and funky fashions filled with personality. Twiggy London ranges from blouses to jackets, handbags, pumps and sneakers — all filtered through Twiggy’s irreverent British lens. This exclusive line transcends generations with a cool & chic London twist.

Still Blonde small The Chief Blonde Remarks: I admire Twiggy for moving into yet another phase of her life.  I have watched her as a confident judge on “America’s Next Top Model” and was thrilled when HSN asked me to check out these stunning boots and the rest of the Twiggy London collection!

Twiggy London for  HSN Suede Boots with Studs and Jewel Detail HSN Price: $89.90

I have wore these boots with black super skinny leggings and a longer jacket.  Just too cute.  STRANGERS were complimenting my boots.  I always consider that the highest praise.  These boots were wear all-day comfortable, very well made, and have the cutest purple soles EVER!!!  I have looked over the rest of the Twiggy London line as well by visiting her line at HSN–Twiggy London.   I love all the clothes–her tagline is “Fashion that transcends generations”.  It’s quite true.  I can see my daughter wearing these clothes as well as my mother.  Another aspect of the Twiggy London section of HSN that I love is the “Get the Look” section, where you can see how the pieces of the collection might be worn with others.  As always,  my favorite section of the Twiggy London section is the Clearance area!   I have found all the HSN items that I have tried to date to be of very high quality,  so it’s quite fun to get these same high quality items on Clearance.  Here is a few more items from the Twiggy London collection that I love:

If the rest of the collection is as nice as the boots or as nice as it appears on line, I highly recommend.  We hope to do a giveaway for this fantastic designer SOON!
