Exploring Clarkston Michigan Small Business Saturday!

November 11, 2012 By Shelley Zurek 7 Comments

I’ll be in Clarkston Michigan For Small Business Saturday

Exploring Clarkston Michigan Small Business Saturday

Clarkston Michigan downtown stores include Rudy’s Market (gourmet grocery shopping), the Union General (cupcakery and paper goods) , Clarkston Union (restaurant)

Clarkston Michigan is the small town where I’ll be hanging out on November 24, 2012 for  Small Business Saturday.  Between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, you can support small businesses nationwide by shopping in your community  for Small Business Saturday.   Last year, over one hundred million people came together to Shop Small in their communities on Small Business Saturday.  Over the next 3 weeks, I will be highlighting Small Business Saturday and urging you to JOIN in!

Small Businesses– I can Relate

Chief Blonde Still Blonde after all these YEARS

As a blog owner, I know how hard small business owners work.  You are often everything: social media coordinator, sales staff, maintenance, etc.  It’s so exciting and exhausting.  The payoff, at the end of the day, is when your local community supports your efforts and appreciates your service.

Clarkston Michigan, Shopping Right in the Community

I like to do everything I can right in the community where I live: go to parades, eat out, shop, go to concerts, get my groceries, buy my services.  Sure, I price shop like the rest of you and buy my fair share of items online but my first preference is shopping locally.  If I know I can find it in the town of Clarkston Michigan..I will be buying it there.  What better time for me to show my support than during the holidays when small businesses make the majority of their sales?

Exploring Clarkston Michigan and finding other Woman owned businesses

Over the next few weeks, I will be scoping out the businesses in Clarkston MI  for products and gifts that I need for the holiday.  I’ll be featuring some stores and their wares–hopefully it will inspire YOU to check out your local town and find the charm and variety that it has to offer you as well!  I know my town has a lot of businesses owned by Women over 45 and Women in general, so I especially hope to find those.

Benefits of Small Business Saturday and shopping locally

  • Help your community thrive by pouring your gift and holiday dollars into businesses where you live
  • Helps local entrepreneurs offer more jobs
  • Saves you gas and time
  • Find unique merchandise that is often locally produced as well
