Wouldn’t you appreciate a NATURAL Memory Foam Pillow?
Essentia Classic Pillow Review
Essentia Classic Pillow $199
For this Essentia Classic pillow review, I was provided samples for review.
The Chief Blonde Remarks: I was sent an Essentia Classic Pillow for review. I currently sleep on a Latex Pillow so I was excited to contrast the Essentia Classic pillow to my own. The Essentia Classic pillow is made from Natural Memory Foam. Essentia and Tempur-pedic are the only Natural Memory Foam pillow producers in the North America.
What is NATURAL memory foam?
Essentia Natural Memory Foam is is made using hevea milk (rubber tree sap). It feels like the memory foam we all know and love, but it’s made without the gunk. Gunk you say? Yes, other memory foam manufactures claim to have eco memory foam, plant-based foam or containing natural properties, boasting green tea memory foam, Bio-Pur memory foam or soy memory foam. But alas, as noted by Essentia, in all cases, petroleum based foam is used, with 2-15% of the petroleum being replaced with soy or cedar oil, allowing the product to be promoted as “natural” or “eco-friendly”. Not very “Natural” in my book.
Latex Pillows versus Natural Memory Foam Pillows?
Latex mattresses are known for being durable, natural and healthy. Memory foam mattresses are known for their pressure relief and comfort…but are full of gunk. That’s why Essentia invented a natural memory foam. Essentia has an extensive discussion on this topic over on their website which I found fascinating. Yes, it’s a discussion presented by the manufacturer of Natural Memory Foam. I found it to be quite balanced. Read: What’s better, Latex or Memory Foam Mattresses?
My final weigh in of Natural Memory Foam versus Latex
I love my Latex pillow. I have had one since I was tiny due to my excessive allergies to feather pillows. When I tried the Essentia Classic Pillow, I was dubious. The Classic pillow is made from 100% Natural Memory Foam, weighs in at 5 pounds, and is designed to mold itself to your exact body shape to evenly distribute head and neck weight, reducing pressure that often causes stiffness, poor sleep, and pain. Essentia Products are made in Canada
Each night when I slept on the pillow, I had a hard time going to sleep. It was not “My” pillow so I think it took some time to develop a comfortable relationship with it. On the flip side, each morning I woke up from a deep sleep, lovely dreams and no aches and pains. My latex pillows always take some time to get rid of the “Smell” before I can sleep on them. Not true with the Classic Essentia. I slept on it from the first night I received it and noticed no latent smell. My overall opinion? Better than almost all other pillow I have slept on and equivalent to my latex pillow.

If I had a choice, I’d love the Body Pillow. It looks so comfy, and sometimes you just need something to cuddle with.
Ergonomic because its made for side sleepers
The body pillows look so comfy
I love the body pillow because I’m big on the cuddling but I can’t believe how much it is. WOW
I like the Classic mostly because I like the shape and that it still has the memory foam characteristics.
I would love the Body Pillow because I love to hug pillows with both my arms and my legs.
ergonomic as i am ALWAYS sleeping on my side and usually am in pain 🙁
hey i want that body pillow!! haha that looks great!
if i cant have that i will take the ergonomic pillow 🙂
I would like to try the foam spa I have scoliosis and it looks like it would be great support for me
The Forma Spa pillow is pricey but seems like the best for me. I am always sleeping on my back and side because it’s easier to breath that way and my pillows always just seems to deflat over the night. I
My favorite is the Classic because I don’t like the ergonomic and other shapes. I just don’t rest well on them. The Classic combines the shape I want with the memory foam. Great!
I would choose the body pillow hands down! Oh, it looks so comfy! I would love snuggling up on this pillow and watching a movie (:
The Forma Spa seems interesting for sure!
Lee
I like the Forma pillow best because I always sleep on my side and sometimes my back! So having a pillow that supports me while I sleep in those positions would be great!
I like the Comfort pillow
i love the Body Pillow because im the type that likes to wrap my arm and leg around it would also help to take the pressure off my bad knee
I would say that the body pillow is my favorite but who am I kidding? My husband and I share our bed with our toddler. There is no room for a body pillow! So, since I’m a tummy sleeper, I would say the Comfort or Classic pillows are faves.
The body pillow looks oh so comfortable. Who wouldn’t love to lie down and just cuddle in with all that softness and support. Thank you for the intro to the site.
the Ergonomic Pillow sounds nice. I like it because I sleep on my side and had a neck injury a few years back this pillow looks like it would support my neck at night
I’d like to try the ergonomic for my sore neck!
