Walt’s Story

As many of you know, my husband, Walt is 6′ 6″ tall. He still loves to play basketball even at 57! However, his knee and back don’t always like him to play basketball. In fact, his knee causes him a lot of irritating pain. He constantly works on his knee to keep it in basketball shape.

One thing he tried recently that really helped him was the Omron Heat Pain Pro TENS Unit. Walt hates to take any kind of medicine, so the idea of an over-the-counter drug-free solution to help with his knee was appealing to him on many levels.

What is the Omron Heat Pain Pro TENS Unit?

TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) has been used by doctors and physical therapists for years, and now products are becoming available for use at home – for pain relief whenever you need it.

Omron Healthcare, a leader in at-home medical devices, has recently introduced Omron Heat Pain Pro TENS unit, which combines TENS and soothing heat to help alleviate chronic pain and aching muscles.

Through alternating periods of TENS and Heat, or TENS alone, 6 pre-set body pain modes, 3 massage modes and 20 intensity levels that can be used on multiple pains throughout the body, the Heat Pain Pro TENS Unit helps users get better control and relief of their pain.

Why Walt likes the Omron Heat Pain Pro

The Heat Pain Pro TENS unit is about as big as a remote control. Walt typically uses the unit while watching TV or playing a game on his phone. He uses just the TENS unit setting for low level pain. But he really loves that after a strenuous work out, that the Omron TENS unit has HEAT that he can alternate with the TENS to really address a higher level of pain.

Walt likes how the unit reduces his pain and helps him to get on with his day. He notes that the settings are easy for even the most technically challenged to use. He also says that you have to play with the unit’s setting to find the right combo of heat and pulsing that works for your individual pain.

Walt likes how portable the Omron Heat Pain Pro TENS unit is and the fact that it comes with a rechargeable battery so he doesn’t have to feel “plugged” in while using it.

I’m a fan of decreasing the need for pain relievers, especially opiates.

I like that it has the heat feature also. I have never seen one like that. I love the fact that it is 100%drug free. Just what I need for aches and pains of getting older. I recently pulled a muscle in my upper arm and it is still bothering me one month later, so I bet it would feel great.

I like that it is safe, combines heat with transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation and can reach up to 20 levels of intensity to provide relief to body pains. I have shoulder and joint pain from working out and this will really help.

The twenty different intensity levels appeals to me because pain is different each time

“The only device on the market that combines soothing heat for achy muscles with TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) technology to relieve acute muscle and joint pain.”

The TENS/heat combo sounds perfect for me; especially after two hours at the gym. My muscles sometimes get so tight in the shoulder area that I’m really risking a seconder injury.

I have been thinking about getting a TENS unit for my knee and back. I like that it takes rechargeable batteries, that saves money in the long run.

My husband is also extremely tall and hates it specifically because it’s so hard on his joints. He would love that this is a drug-free alternative to pain management…I like that the batteries are rechargeable. Ain’t nobody got time to buy batteries. LOL

I like that the Gel pads (Electrodes) can be used up to 30 times before needing to be replaced! And that they include a link to where you can order more!

The feature that appeals most to me is the ability to use just heat. The old TENS unit that we have does not have that feature. I use a reusable heat pack often for my aches and pains, so having a TENS unit with heat would be extremely helpfull.

I love that you have 20 levels of intensity. It comes in handy because people have different levels of pain and it can cater to all levels.
