Our Complete Idiot’s Guide Giveaway Today is for the GO GREEN Giveaway EVENT!
I am from Michigan, I have 3 children who attend Michigan State University…School Colors? Green and White! So in our family, Go GREEN takes on a whole new meaning. (GO SPARTANS!) Green makes others think of grass, our buddy Kermit the Frog, and green clovers on St. Patrick’s Day! But today, the GREEN we are celebrating is a lifestyle structured around being responsible to the environment and sustainable living.
BEING GREEN is not inherent to all of us, so the Complete Idiot’s Guide GREEN series offers up several titles to our readers to help you attain your highest green potential! The Titles for our Complete Idiot’s Guide Giveaway featured today include:
The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Eating Local
Author Diane A. Welland, details for us what local eating is (and also isn’t). She provides suggestions to start moving our family and our local community to sustainable eating. You will discover the kinds of foods that are local for your region of the US. Also, food storage tips are provided to ensure you can experience your local foods well into the next season.
The Complete Idiot’s Guide® to Greening Your Business
Authors Heather Gadonniex and Trish Riley outline steps to incorporate making money as a business while still focusing on going green. You can discover how to achieve and set practical goals when pursuing Green, stream line your operations with GREEN in mind, reduce your time to commute and overhead, cut your business’s energy costs, understand carbon credits, ensure your products are greener, and incorporate GREEN into all steps of your business.
The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Self-Sufficient Living
Author Jerome D. Belanger informs on how to not be deprived when living the simpler green lifestyle. Be assured that a Self-sufficient Lifestyle is not Pioneer Living but instead a satisfying approach to being less dependent.
The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Urban Homesteading
Sundari Elizabeth Kraft, Author ensures that we can live in urban surroundings and live GREEN–sustainably and responsibly. We get a hands on education of composting, reducing transportation costs, recycling, small livestock, organic food and perserving and more!
Chief Blonde Remarks: We are seriously lucky to have Complete Idiot’s Guides as a Giveaway today for the GREEN EVENT. We have previously featured Complete Idiot’s Guides on our blog and it was one of our most popular Book review/Giveaway in the history of our Blog. Complete Idiot’s Guides know how to break down a subject into the essential elements. The layout and breakdown of each guide is perfect when you want to quickly and efficiently learn about a subject. You can also do a deep dive by reading all the chapters as most important components related to a topic are always there. I found each of the GREEN guides to be particularly intriguing. I am very interested in Buying Locally so I think I could further that passion into Eating Locally as outlined in the Complete Idiot’s Guide to Eating Local. I can’t see myself raising chickens and small livestock but raised gardens and making my own bread are not of the realm as is covered in the Complete Idiot’s Guide to Self-Sufficient Living and also CIG to Urban Homesteading. I feel that I really do practice GREEN in my business–I don’t drive to my work, I work from home; I don’t print anything, I just store digitally; and I dial down the thermostat during the day–the Complete Idiot’s Guide to Greening your Business suggests several of your of these techniques to focus your business on Green.
