Collecting Santa Claus

True Confessions: I love collecting Santa Claus

softened santa and jesus

Out of the 100s of Santas I have, this one is my favorite!  It sits in the center of the mantel.

Santa Collecting — It all starts with one

I have a massive Santa collection.  There I said it…I don’t mean just a few, I have tons and tons.  My favorite is the one above because it says to me that even Santa recognizes the Reason for the Season…JESUS!

I really don’t know where my obsession started with collecting Santa Claus began, but all of a sudden, one day, I had TONS of Santas.

Mantle Santas

My tree is loaded with Santas, and every nook and cranny has another one. My collection philosophy is that each Santa needs to from a different medium. So for example, I have a Plate Santa, a Star Fish Santa, a Jalapeno Pepper Santa, a Straw Santa,  etc. Sometimes the Santas are just a different theme, like a Baker Santa or a Teacher Santa. However, usually I just try to collect ones that are made from different processes or material.

Here’s just a few in my collection!

Although I do not celebrate Christmas as a holiday, when I was a little girl I enjoyed watching Miracle on 34th Street.

We have to watch “It’s a Wonderful Life” every year, but “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” cracks me up every time I see it.
