Not feeling in the Red this Valentine’s Day?

Every year can’t be all hearts and cupids for Valentine’s day, right? Sometimes we just aren’t feeling the love. So I have created a Blue Chicken Recipe sure to tickle your fancy (and an entire Blue Valentine’s day recipe meal here).

Blue Chicken

Blue Valentines Recipe Blue Chicken Recipe

What makes this chicken recipe blue? Blue Curaçao (a liqueur). Blue Curaçao and Curaçao taste exactly alike so if you don’t want your chicken to be blue, just use Curaçao. Don’t let the addition of this liqueur put you off making this dish. It adds a delicious orangey tang and the alcohol burns off during the cooking!

After browning, the chicken breasts are baked, then simmered in champagne and blue curacao. Mushrooms and heavy cream are then combined to make a rich sauce. This is a spectacular main course that will have your guests mesmerized between the color and the taste.

Blue foods can be strange. When I was growing up I put blue food coloring in our pitcher of milk. My sister wouldn’t even drink it.
