Blue Valentine’s Day Recipe Meal: Blue Chicken Recipe

Not feeling in the Red this Valentine’s Day?

Every year can’t be all hearts and cupids for Valentine’s day, right? Sometimes we just aren’t feeling the love. So I have created a Blue Chicken Recipe sure to tickle your fancy (and an entire Blue Valentine’s day recipe meal here).

Blue Chicken

Blue Valentines Recipe Blue Chicken Recipe

What makes this chicken recipe blue? Blue Curaçao (a liqueur). Blue Curaçao and Curaçao taste exactly alike so if you don’t want your chicken to be blue, just use Curaçao. Don’t let the addition of this liqueur put you off making this dish. It adds a delicious orangey tang and the alcohol burns off during the cooking!

After browning, the chicken breasts are baked, then simmered in champagne and blue curacao. Mushrooms and heavy cream are then combined to make a rich sauce. This is a spectacular main course that will have your guests mesmerized between the color and the taste.

I’d choose the Le Creuset Signature Enameled Cast-Iron 7-1/4-Quart Round French (Dutch) Oven in Palm amazon.com/dp/B00I8S8W5G/ref=twister_B007BA034A?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

We usually don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day but we would both definitely get a lot of use from one of these.

This recipe looks like something my mother would make for my father as a ‘special’ dinner every now and then- it was one of his favorites! As for Valentine’s my pup would love the giant package of Greenies dental chews for the holiday!
