The Big Book of Bacon, 100 Best Bacon Recipes

November 12, 2014 By Shelley Zurek 143 Comments

MMMM Bacon!  The Big Book of Bacon
The Big Book of Bacon

THE BIG BOOK OF BACON: Savory Flirtations, Dalliances, and Indulgences with the Underbelly of the Pig, by Jennifer Pearsall; November 4, 2014, 2014; $19.95; ISBN: 9781629145556

WHAT? 100 Best Bacon Recipes

I received written by Jennifer L. S. Pearsall to review and enjoy. Can I just say, this is something a bacon lover cannot put down. LIKE EVER!  I mean just look at the recipes

Satisfy your craving for this “candy meat” with dishes that spotlight bacon (like our Mushroom Swiss Burger), and others that use it as subtle, rich flavor enhancer (like the tart Cherry Tomato Pasta made with nutty zucchini and creamy Provolone sauce). You’ll learn how to cook a slice properly, how to navigate brand thickness and choice, and even how to make a Bacon Bowl! YES, I you read that right!  A BACON BOWL!  Here’s another recipe from the book that I am dying to make:

Alright, now I know you have an idea of the delectable recipes in this 271 page full color book.  You will love the heavyweight coated stock used to make the book and the oversized format. Every recipe has tips and tricks that help you understand the nuances behind each recipe.  There are photos galore, which is a must for me when using a cookbook.  And well…MMMMM BACON!

I live with 2 men who would choose to have bacon in every dish they eat. This book can help me be creative 🙂

We love bacon in our household and it would be great to try some new recipes. I can definitely recommend the BLT sandwich at Crown Candy Company in St. Louis MO if you want a bacon overload.

Bacon has always been one of my favorite foods. My entire family loves it. The book would be very useful to help me fix bacon in more ways than I normally do. Also, maybe a few fancy dishes to take to our family holiday gatherings.

I found out that the book even goes into making desserts with bacon. I don’t know if I would go that far but you never know because right now, as of this moment, we have 21 packages of bacon in our house!! Can anyone say bacon lovers! :)) I think if anyone would try bacon desserts it would be us! 🙂
