I want the BEST GARMENT BAG and I want it NOW!
Ebay and I are collaborating so I can let you know about the best garment bag available IMO. They sent me along this Samsonite Silhouette Sphere 2 Deluxe Voyager Garment Bag ($296 currently) after I chose it from their site.
Walt’s retiring so we need the best garment bag!
Have I told you guys the good news yet? Walt’s retiring! Yes, that’s right, after 38 years with the same company, he is signing his papers, packing up his bags and heading out the door.
Everyone keeps asking “What is Walt going to do? How will he fill his time?” They seem to think a man like Walt with his many talents and interests can’t find a way to occupy himself! Well, I can tell you what he/we are going to do! We are going to travel our face off.
Our luggage has suffered through the years
Through the years, we have went through quite a bit of different luggage. Some of the best pieces were lost by the airlines or cruise line. Some of our luggage were old out-of-date styles and we donated them to Salvation Army. One of our great rolling bags somehow got taken over by our daughter and we have never seen it again.
The abandoned Holly Michigan Train Depot has seen a lot of travel.
Then there is the sad sad story of our garment bags. You know the ones…they were so popular in the ’80s and 90s. Every business and upscale traveler had those over-the-shoulder models that made your back ache and your shoulder scream. For awhile, when rolling bags and spinner bags came into vogue, garment bags seemed to go out of style…but Samsonite has changed all that.

I wanted a bag that had pockets on the outside (see above for the huge outside pockets on the Samsonite bag).
Walt insisted that the bag be a Spinner model making it super simple to navigate. The Samsonite Silhouette Sphere 2 Deluxe Voyager Garment Bag features the Samsonite’s new Split Spherical Wheels. Each half of the Sphere Wheel can move independently in the same or opposite direction to comfortably allow rolling over uneven or smooth surfaces alike with the same effortless motion for the ultimate in unparalleled control and turning ability.
Walt is 6’6″ tall so he also mandated that the handle be long enough for him to be able to pull without crouching over. Not only did he find the Sphere wheels easy to navigate with but the handle fit his long body easily and the textured TPR coated, gel-infused, push-button locking handle provided a comfortable grip.
The interior of the Samsonite Silhouette Sphere 2 Deluxe Voyager Garment Bag was what sold me. I can easily pack for a 7 day trip with this bag. How great will it be for our next cruise?
The Samsonite garment bag has a fully featured interior which includes hanger hook, extender panel for longer garments, lined shoe compartment, compression straps, and multiple pockets for exceptional packing organization. The capacity is perfect for an overpacker like me!
The bag itself is 20.25 x 22 x 9.75 when closed, which means this bag must be checked. The Samsonite Silhouette Sphere 2 Deluxe Voyager Garment Bag comes in black which for me is the only luggage color I will consider.

I remember those garment bags!! I love that this is on wheels with how much I travel my luggage gets to be very heave fast!
I’ve used many a suitcase and duffle bag in my time but I must say I’ve not come across one that sleek before! Plus it really looks like it can fit a LOT with the way it’s shaped unlike many cases I’ve seen in the past. Plus I, too, am an over-packer (I seriously can’t help it) so this would be perfect for my needs. A big congratulations to hubby for retiring! I can’t wait to see the places you guys go.

That is one cool garment bag. My parents are always carrying around a garment bag when they travel. I am going to have to show on this one I think they will like it.
