What are the benefits of unlocked mobile phones?

July 12, 2017 By Shelley Zurek 45 Comments

Unlocked Mobile Phones=choose the carrier that suits YOU!

Unlocked Mobile Phones

What are unlocked mobile phones?

The next phone I buy will be an unlocked phone. Why? Because unlocked mobile phone allow me to choose my model, my carrier, and my plan.

What are unlocked mobile phones? Unlocked mobile phones are phones that aren’t tied to a specific carrier or contract.

What are the benefits of unlocked mobile phones?

I want an unlocked mobile phone for my next phone because of the many benefits of unlocked mobile phones including:

  • I have the freedom to shop for the latest phones and plans as often — or as infrequently — as I want.
  • Unlocked smartphones don’t come stuffed with numerous carrier applications that that take up space on your phone. That’s huge!
  • Unlocked phones are great for international travel.
  • When you move, you can pick the carrier that suits you, not be locked in a certain carrier due to your phone.

The new Sony Xperia Ultra and Premium models are unlocked mobile phones that are currently available at Best Buy. PSST! These unlocked phones work with the following major carriers – AT&T, Verizon and Cricket. How about that for not being locked in?

Sony ultra Unlocked Mobile Phones

Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra

While the benefits of unlocked mobile phones are many, you still want a great phone. The Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra has an incredible borderless 6” edge-to-edge Full HD display – provides an extraordinary mobile viewing experience. What I love as well is the phone has two incredible cameras: new 23MP main camera previously found only on Sony’s flagship smartphones and a 16MP front-facing camera upgraded to include a 23mm wide-angle lens! Stop into Best Buy to pick up this amazing phone because the cutting edge Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra is only available there.

Sony Premium Unlocked Mobile PhonesSony Xperia XZ Premium

I think the Sony Xperia XZ Premium will be a gamer or movie lovers dream phone because it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor that helps it to performs exceptionally for creating super slow motion videos, watching 4K HDR videos, or playing the latest PlayStation games on PS4 Remote Play.

Can you imagine? It’s 4K HDR Display is the first of its kind in a smartphone with a Super Slow Motion camera to boot! The 19MP main camera comes with the world’s first Motion Eye camera system, featuring Predictive Capture to help you achieve the shot you desire. Super Slow Motion video recording will enable you to watch every dance move your daughter executes or every hockey shot that your grandson scores in all it’s glory. The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is available at Best Buy.

Thank you for the wonderful information. I love that I can change carriers with an unlocked phone. I also like that I don’t have a carrier’s pre-loaded junk that eats up space on my phone.

I was not familiar of an unlocked mobile phone until I read this article. My husband still insists on our cell phone carrier

Yep. I have had sprint for years and I hate it. Its SO overpriced but we’re stuck in it because our contracts are up at different times and our phones always seem to break RIGHT before it’s time to upgrade.

I wish I could utilize an unlocked phone but being on a fixed income of Social Security I have an ‘Obama phone’ and we have to use the phones that they provide or that are covered in the program. I keep hoping for a smart phone but nope, just this silly dumb phone lol.

I’m starting to travel more internationally and don’t want to be tied into a plan so I’m definitely considering getting an unlocked phone next. I learned a lot from this post. Thanks!

I think the advantage of not having a carrier’s apps using up space.

While shelling out for an unlocked phone might make the initial payment higher than choosing to take the contract route, unlocked phones actually help users save in the long run! Users needn’t be burdened by the extra monthly expense of having to pay a subscription fee and also have the choice of choosing a different network should they want to change their current plan.

This is very cool review, I never knew that you could unlock a phone and use it for another carrier, I have a new smart phone that I won from Scratch Wireless, it was great for 6 months and then I could not buy any more plans, that sucked so now I will check on un-locking it
