How many Women enter Menopause each day?

How many Women enter Menopause each day?

Menopause–The time when a woman’s ovaries stops producing eggs and menstruation ceases!

Menopause–An inevitability for Women over 45

By the end of the day 6,000 American women will have entered menopause – the time when a woman’s ovaries stop producing eggs and the body produces less and less estrogen and progesterone until menstruation ceases, marking the end of a woman’s reproductive years.  Women over 45 take note, if you aren’t there yet, you will be soon!
That number is steadily rising as our population ages, making it more important than ever to educate women about the symptoms associated with menopause, their underlying causes, and what can be done to ease the discomfort of hot flashes, insomnia, heart palpitations, mood swings, and the absence of their sex drive.
“Although there’s still a great deal to be learned about why the declining levels of hormones wreak such havoc on a woman’s body, we know for sure that it impacts everything from their blood vessels to their brain,” Janet Humphrey,  founder and director of New York City’s Giving Nature Center says. “Still, the onset of symptoms is often gradual, and most women are fully engulfed by menopause before they even understand that their symptoms are all related. For this reason, many women feel blindsided by menopause and have a terrible time navigating the available treatment options on their own.”
According to gynecologist, Michael Abrahams M.D., FACOG, FACS women need to know their options and understand their inner workings. Women as young as in their 30s can benefit by having their hormone levels tested.
“Our culture largely views menopause as a disease to be treated, when in reality it’s a natural part of a woman’s life that marks a new beginning. With any patient in the age of menopause or perimenopause, the priority is to determine where the imbalances lie,” he explains.
There is no “one-size fits all” way to address menopause.
