Did my Life get too Cluttered?
Blog Note: I have severely disappointed one of my readers, maybe more and I am sorry. I started this declutter challenge back in Jan., 2011. We had 3 months worth of prizes added to the pile and a nice group of readers jumped on board and participated enthusiastically. Then my life took over (one kid graduating high school out of state plus open house, one graduating college, sick mom, another kid moved out, high school senior went to college, 2 kids got licences, a wedding, a bridal shower, yada-yada-yada! ) Anywho, I let the ball drop on this and I am sorry! Especially to my dear reader who is upset with me. But the challenge isn’t ruined yet…we have this month to get caught up!
So Let’s Catch up!
Anyway the deal was, you were supposed to declutter one item everyday for 365 days. Then you were supposed to give your input every month into how you were doing as your entry and I would add a prize to the pile each month. You guys did an awesome job of commenting in the first three months.

Biggest decluttering this year for me was my catch all basement!
I easily got rid of 365 things this year, but it definitely wasn’t done one thing each day.
Everybody causes clutter in my house, but I’m probably the worst culprit.
We have a storage room that has everything imaginable in it, from a 100-year-old steamer trunk filled with my mother’s memories to milk crates filled with old record albums. And everything in between.
My biggest challenge was maintaining the effort. I could gather 10 things in one day, but then not get back to it for another week.
in paper i probably did throw out 365 things this year but probably not much else!
I needed to get the children’s clothes sorted and throw and giveaway those that we weren’t using. I have had 5 children and 4 here with us now. I was still hoping to have more children, but it is looking like that will not happen, and so I was finally ready to share some of those things that I had kept for the next baby…The mental challenge of it, of giving up on a dream is much harder than the actual work of getting it done I think!
i stand in my own way of decluttering!!!
whether or not i will use it in the future is the biggest factor in whether or not i throw it out
i motivate myself to declutter by keeping everything in a pile or stack then going thru it once a month
My biggest challenge de-cluttering has been renting from family. We’ve stuffed our lives from a big apartment into a small room + shared bathroom. Even when we de-clutter there is NO space.
my tip to others to declutter is to consolidate as you go along
i cause the most cluttering in the house cuz i get so much mail
my fav decluttering tip is to have a folio system & stick w. it
the kitchen table because it’s right when you walk in from the garage
getting papers organized!
My biggest decluttering challenge has been to go through the massive paper trail that has accumulated.
No I did not get rid of 365 things this year.
Who stands in my way of decluttering is myself, I never seem to have the time.
Why I keep things is seminal value. If it belonged to my mother I can’t part with it.
