Did my Life get too Cluttered?
Blog Note: I have severely disappointed one of my readers, maybe more and I am sorry. I started this declutter challenge back in Jan., 2011. We had 3 months worth of prizes added to the pile and a nice group of readers jumped on board and participated enthusiastically. Then my life took over (one kid graduating high school out of state plus open house, one graduating college, sick mom, another kid moved out, high school senior went to college, 2 kids got licences, a wedding, a bridal shower, yada-yada-yada! ) Anywho, I let the ball drop on this and I am sorry! Especially to my dear reader who is upset with me. But the challenge isn’t ruined yet…we have this month to get caught up!
So Let’s Catch up!
Anyway the deal was, you were supposed to declutter one item everyday for 365 days. Then you were supposed to give your input every month into how you were doing as your entry and I would add a prize to the pile each month. You guys did an awesome job of commenting in the first three months.

storage tip – buy see though containers and label them, especially holiday themed items
my husband causes the most clutter
my favorite decluttering tip is to organize and label, everything should have a place
the clutter hotspot is the “toy room” because it is always the last to be cleaned
my biggest decluttering challenge is the pile of toys that keeps collecting in our basement
ok i had a closet a mess went to storage and got t he small drawer and got stuff out of the closet and now the closet clean i got rid of t he 400 for of the bears in my room put them in storage yes i had t hat m eany and more my bf stand in my way to do the cleaning he was gone and i did it what did i do to give way i had over 400 sheet of sticker and then note cards i sent to the pen pal and i did give most of the stuff way the books i had over 250 of t hem giving them to the book store tomorrow i only keeping the author who sign my books know i regift the stuff i win i won a pic and when i get it i keep it but i did get one and t hen gave to the office it fit there decore i had it for 2 year
Threw out WAY MORE than 365 in 2011!!!!! And it felt good so I need to do more!!!!
my bookshelf is a mess
WORK IS IN MY WAY 24/7—-i see clients then work from home so it is ALWAYS there….so I could work non-stop so that is always an excuse not to do it. My husband get on me for always wanting to work so I could do more than work at home so for sure that is in my way!!!
Throe versus Keep—Honestly I always ask myself have I used or will I use in next month…Magazines are my problem! if I don;t read within 2 weeks OUT they go!!!!!!
My motivation is my daughter!!!! She is 2 and loves to say “mommy can I help clean so we start and she LOVES throwing things in garbage so I start and it’s on!!!!!!!! PLUS she has health issues so clutter and dust are BAD BAD BAD here!!!
Storage tip—TOTES TOTES TOTES of same kind so when you stack they stack well…..store things NEAT more will fit!!!!!!!!!
I will blame myself for person who causes most clutter! I do the stocking on items I get on sale…I don’t over do it but I do the shopping And i AM THE ONE WHO WORKS FROM HOME 90% OF THE TIME SO i HAVE OFFICE stuff!!!!
Biggest de-clutter tip—-when you feel the urge do it don’t look twice throw it out!!!!! IMMEDIATELY!!!!
HOTSPOT—a table beside to main dresser in my room with my coupon stuff/magazines/totes/extra printer/stuff hidden i don’t know what is and no telling what else is there!!!!!!
De~cluttering my room that is a bedroom AND home office!! We need an extra room and don’t have it so having my home office since I work from home after I see my clients is very hard!!
I probably did get rid of 365 things in 2011. I hope to double it in 2012!!
I stand in my way from decluttering-I think that I will need this “whatever” someday!
My biggiest factor for keeping something is that as soon as I throw it out I will need it!!!
I motivate myself to declutter by watching hoarders-it works every time!
