By; Jenna M Wood, Momma Told Me
Back in school my mom put me on structured diet. She hoped to prevent me going down my family’ path of high cholesterol/heart disease. I was put on a meal plan of supplement bars and shakes. Aside from ruining my social status, the food was tasteless, and I was left looking forward more to the snacks of fruit or vegetables. Despite my resistance, my mom would explain, “Dieting is NOT gourmet. Tasting good and eating healthy don’t always go hand in hand, but it’s heathly eating is great for you, so you will be doing it .” I think what she was really saying was that she didn’t want to prepare any extra menus into the already special meals that she planned for my father (who already had to have a specific diet. Really, I don’t blame her! It’s difficult to have the time to create and make menus for your family from scratch, with wholesome ingredients AND keeping everyone’s health needs and issues in mind!
As a grownup, I have experienced a variety of diet plans for myself. I even lived through the Nutrisystem plan via my ex (where within every two hour interval I had to whip his snacks, out of our pocket!) About the only elements of dieting that HAVE worked for me are , sensible portion control and focusing on the food pyramid, pretty all else came up short in terms of tastiness and economy. Needless to say, when I first heard about meals via tailored home delivery that Bistro MD’s promised, you can be sure I was doubtful. Bistro MD’s approach did see intelligent to me though, and I could see when the children had returned to school it might just work. Staying fit while trying to schlep kid’s to all their activities is a real challege. But I recalled that Dr. Phil had talked about Bistro MD during one of his specials, but at the time I didn’t really give it much thought. Then I found out that Bistro Md in Dr. Phil’s #1 home food delivery service, and it’s the number 2 company in diet delivery in the USA!
In the Bistro MD Program, the initial step is deciding on a meal plan (without snacks, a week’s worth of food starts at $129). Not matter what your dietary goals and needs whether it be losing weight, or limiting your sodium, or avoiding gluten–or any other plan that you work with Bistro MD to devise just for you, you will always have a wide variety of meals. The home delivered meals are new every single week to ensure that you won’t get bored with your food. They care about you likes and dislikes as well, so if you hate broccoli or love rice Bistro Md will work with those preferences to the best of their abilities and will even make substitutions (yet they always bear in mind the nutrition element!) And if they do send you a dinner with you dislikes in it? As long as you had let them know ahead of time…you don’t have to pay for that meal. Bear in mind though, Bistro MD can’t serve you beer and pizza and call that nutrional, the always keep your specific meal plan in focus.
