ARM and HAMMER Sensitive Skin Detergent Review

June 25, 2012 By Shelley Zurek 12 Comments

Arm and Hammer Sensitive Skin Detergent addresses Skin Irritation AND Smelly Dirty Clothes
Arm & Hammer Sensitive Skin

Arm and Hammer Sensitive Skin Detergent (Liquid Laundry) Plus Skin-Friendly Fresh Scent HE Compatible prepares to tackle the our Socks and Whites!

Stinky Dirty Socks?  Sensitive Skin?  Top of the Line Washing Machine?

ARM and HAMMER Sensitive Skin Detergent seems to be the detergent that can tackle it all. Look at the features in one detergent:

  • Created for sensitive skin: dye free, skin friendly
  • Works in standard and high efficiency washers
  • Specially designed fragrance clinically tested to be gentle
When you have sensitive skin like I do, you must often sacrifice a nice fragrance in order to get a detergent that is gentle on your skin.  In fact, the fragrance itself is often irritating to the skin or to “Smell allergies”.  What a person like me often does is go to a totally scent-free detergent, that is also dye-free and just for sensitive skin!  Or you search in vain for a detergent with a gentle smell that won’t irritate your skin or your allergies.
Believe me,  scent has a real purpose in detergent.  The detergent I tried just prior to using ARM and HAMMER Sensitive Skin Detergent, was indeed scent free.  But guess what? Our clothes did not smell clean once washed.  In the towels (which I don’t bleach), you could especially smell a sourness…even though they had just been washed.

After using Arm & Hammer Sensitive Skin on our whites, they look bright and white, smell clean and fresh, and don’t irritate Mom’s or Dad’s skin!

One Detergent Solves Many Problems

I have struggled for YEARS with my sensitive skin.  Women over 45 have sensitive skin as it is. I have allergies galore and detergents are the WORST.  They can make me break out in a rash  because they are too strong or knock my “fragrance sensitivity” meter into the red zone, with their over-abundant scents.  Yet, when you use less harsh detergents…many of them either don’t clean well or they don’t give the laundry that nice clean smell.  ARM and HAMMER Sensitive Skin Detergent seems to have got the balance just right.  A nice soft non-irritating scent that doesn’t seem to bother my skin or my nose…and the ARM and Hammer detergent power to get clothes clean.  Find Arm & Hammer at their website:www.armandhammer.com and follow Arm & Hammer Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/armandhammer  !

I had the same issue as Carina. I always buy free & clear detergents. I don’t really care what brand it is-I just buy whatever is on sale. I know I’ve used Arm & Hammer’s detergent for sensitive skin before, and had no issues. However the last bottle I purchased around March/April 2014 had a very noticeable smell when I opened it. It wasn’t really a perfume smell, I’m not sure what it was. Shortly after I had severe contact dermatitis, and the hives were the worst wherever my clothes were tight against my skin. This has NEVER happened to me before. Not a few people said it could be my detergent, but I didn’t believe it since I’ve used this brand before. However, sure enough, now that I’m using a different brand, the dermatitis has vanished. They must have changed their formula. I would not buy it again.

I just bought Arm & Hammer for sensitive skin. I always buy this product and it works great for my family. As usual, the label on the front says free of perfumes and dyes. The fragrance was very strong. I thought they must have mislabeled the package. It was all I had so I used it and my daughter now has contact dermatitis. I am disappointed as this has been our go-to detergent for a long time.

I am going to have to check this out because my sister breaks out in hives with most detergents.

I am sensitive to fragrances too. It’s good to know that A&H has made a detergent for people with allergies and skin sensitivities. Thanks for sharing!

So far, this detergent has been the most effective getting the funky smell out of my husband’s workout clothes. Which is saying A LOT!

We love this detergent and it is the only thing that doesn’t break out my boy’s skin that is scented. It’s really wonderful!

Sounds like a great detergent that I might have to try after I run out of my current supply. I am really sensative to chemicals and smells as well. Thank you for telling us about this product.
