I am so excited to be working with Dakota Callahan from Callahan Creations in Utah! He approached me as a small business owner and an Etsy Shop owner and asked me if I would feature his work. One peek at his gorgeous wood signs had me answering his email with an enthusiastic “Wow…I’d love too”.
Dakota let me know of his passion for wood creations:
My name is Dakota Callahan. I am from St. George, Utah. I grew up working in my father’s cabinet shop. Working in the cabinet shop, taught me about different stains and how to work with wood. I began to really love working with wood and wanted to try something other than cabinets, that is when I started making these two toned wood signs. While I have been going to college, I have built my own CNC Router and have started up my own little business just this year. I specialize in wood carved family name signs that I stain with a two tone stain!
Isn’t that an amazing story? I just love working with artisans and as you can see, that’s really what Dakota’s work is…gorgeous art! What a wonderful gift for anyone!
The personalized wood signs measure 9.25 inches x 23 inches. Each sign is personalized with your family name, sanded, stained, and then sprayed with a high gloss sealer finish. This gives each sign a rustic feel.

I don’t remember which anniversary has the recommended gift of wood but this would be a wonderful gift for a couple. I like the one you had done for yourself. It is a nice piece that would look good on display in anyone’s home.

I like these wooden signs. I like the simplicity. I have seen a lot hang them on their front doors or on walls. Quite pretty.
