Giving Product: S’well Bottles by S’well
The S’well Bottle keeps Cold Items Cold and Hot Items Hot–Just like Women over 45!
Giving Highlights:
- S’well bottles merge style and function with environmental and social consciousness. Through a year-long design process involving hundreds of prototypes and dozens of focus groups, the S’well bottle was born.
- The shape of the S’well bottle has been designed to fit ergonomically into each customer’s hand, bag and car cup holder. The first-edition S’well bottle is engraved with the S’well motto and has a space on the bottom for personalization.
- An estimated 50 billion plastic bottles of water are consumed each year in the US and over 200 billion bottles globally, not for purity sake, but for convenience and portability.
- Even in this era of conservation of resources, less than 20% of these plastic, disposable water bottles are recycled.
- Water is essential for life, but one billion people, one sixth of the world’s population, do not have safe access to it. To address this crisis, for every S’well bottle sold, 10% percent of the proceeds are donated to WaterAid, a non-profit organization that for the past 30 years has been working to deliver water solutions to world’s poorest communities.
- Every bottle sold provides almost a year supply of water for someone in need, and every five bottles sold provides a lifetime supply.
- Retail Price is $40.00 from Swellbottle.com
- S’well is offering our readers 10% off purchases through December by using the code Swellpals at checkout! Isn’t that Swell? HAHAHA!
Chief Blonde remarks: While the price may seem high for a Bottle that houses liquid, the quality, purpose and function are undeniable. I have been waiting and looking for a water bottle just like this one. It fits in my cupholder without spilling. The lid actually goes on and stays on. It’s about the size and shape of a Diet Coke (don’t actually fill with Diet Coke, sodas and this lovely bottle do not agree!), but I can fill it with water for my many many road trips. I can’t tell you how much water I buy while on the road, I am looking forward to having my S’well bottle along to save some money. I am a huge supporter of providing healthy drinking and cooking water to those without, how can we not be? This is a gift that the will please the receiver–as they will be getting the true Cadillac of eco-bottles and it will please the giver knowing that they not only gave a wonderful gift but that they gave to others as well with it’s purchase.

Art Inspired Gifts for Blondes, Women over 45 and everyone!
Giving Item: Vincent Van Gogh Irises Scarf by the Getty Museum
Getty Museum’s Van Gogh Irises Silk Scarf $65
Giving Highlights:
- Silk
- Inspired by Vincent Van Gogh Irises
- Scarf is 18″ x 59″
Giving Details:
Just in time for the Holidays, the Getty Museum launches a new website in time to bring art-inspired gifts to online shoppers. This holiday season, shoppers will be able to give the gift of art to those special people on their list… and from the comfort of their own homes. The Getty Museum Store has recently launched a redesigned website featuring items inspired by the collection and exhibitions on view at the Getty Center and Getty Villa in Los Angeles. These unique and charming gifts include exquisite hand- blown glass vases, children’s paint sets and toys, beautiful silk scarves, and delicate jewelry. Inspired by objects in the Getty Museum’s collection, these items are available in the Museum Stores at the Getty Center and Getty Villa, or online at http://shop.getty.edu.
I was giving the chance to review this breathtaking scarf. True to the detail of the original painting, owned by the Getty Museum, this scarf just says “art”! I encourage you to peruse the Museum site before venturing out to all those malls! Ever item is unusual and art inspired. The new website is a breeze to navigate, with large colorful pictures and the full detail behind the art inspired piece. For example on the Van Gogh scarf, here is what they say:
In May 1889, after episodes of mental illness, Vincent van Gogh chose to enter an asylum in Saint-Rémy, France. There, in the last year before his death, he created almost 130 paintings. Within the first week, he began Irises, working from nature in the asylum’s garden. The cropped composition, divided into broad areas of vivid color with monumental irises overflowing its borders, was probably influenced by the decorative patterning of Japanese woodblock prints. Each one of Van Gogh’s irises is unique. He carefully studied their movements and shapes to create a variety of curved silhouettes bounded by wavy, twisting, and curling lines. The painting’s first owner, French art critic Octave Mirbeau, one of Van Gogh’s earliest supporters, wrote: How well he has understood the exquisite nature of flowers!”
I highly recommend the Getty Museum website and the Irises scarf. Women over 45, here’s the gift that you can give to every single female on your list. Also, we are hosting a giveaway here for this scarf: https://stillblondeafteralltheseyears.com/2010/11/65-getty-museum-silk-scarf-giveaway/ Maybe you can win one for yourself!
