Gift Cards for Women over 45 — Create an Experience!
The Chief Blonde and her family several years ago at Christmas
Experiences and Memories spring from Breaking the Holiday Bread Together
Each year, we try to open gifts and eat together as a family on Christmas eve. It’s a really special time and one of the few when all of us sit down together and break bread so to speak. Of course when our kids were young, we ate every evening meal together. As they got older, other factors came into play, (work, college, girlfriends, friends, significant other’s schedules) as a result, catching a meal together doesn’t happen as often.
Even this year, “almost” all of our four children will gather. Yet, one son, along with his new bride, will be en route from his honeymoon, stopping off at his new in-laws before arriving at our home on Christmas day. We will miss him very much on Christmas Eve but hope to make up for it on Christmas day. We are thrilled to be welcoming a new daughter-in-law into our household as well.
Walt and I have found that when everyone sits down around the family table there is a lot of teasing, laughing and remembering. The Christmas Eve dinner is especially fun as we have been celebrating it together as a family unit for so many years. As our children bring their wives, friends and girlfriends, I know the experience will just get richer. Each Christmas Eve, we try to include church and/or a bible reading of the Christmas story, a Christmas Eve meal, present opening and then dessert. While we aren’t inflexible, it’s our tradition and quite enjoyable as the kids gather together once more.
Gift Cards for Women over 45, Gift Cards for Creating Holiday Memories
Each year, Walt and I receive our gifts from the children on Christmas Eve. When the kids were young, we would always receive some adorable craft they had made in school. Many of these creations survive to this day and hang on our Christmas tree or are framed and hanging on the wall during the season.
As all four of our children are in college, none of them have any money to speak of or time to buy expensive presents (finals run right up to Christmas), so gift cards are often something that is a great choice for them to buy us. The kids can always all go in together or get smaller denominations of gift cards. It’s so easy for me (and Walt) to choose the gift cards that we want, we are super easy to buy for and love many items that can be bought with gift cards. Here’s the Chief Blonde recommended top 5!
