“We are honored to partner with OCRF and to help in their efforts to prevent ovarian cancer,” commented Mark Skorlich, CEO of California Blooms.  “This is a worthy cause that has affected so many people, and we’re excited to offer our customers an easy way to contribute with this month-long campaign.”

According to OCRF, ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer death among women in the US and is the leading cause of death from gynecologic cancers.   Ovarian cancer is often difficult to diagnose as the symptoms are often vague. When detected and treated early, however,  the 5-year survival rate is greater than ninety two percent!  Support of ovarian cancer research will enable researchers to  develop early testing techniques as well as innovative treatments.

The late Gerre Skorlich, mother of California Bloom’s CEO Mark Skorlich,  lost her fight with ovarian cancer in 1994.  California Blooms  proudly supports ovarian cancer research and  the search for a cure in her honor.
