TOP FIVE Tips : Buying an Engagement Ring Online with No Stress

March 13, 2013 By Shelley Zurek 21 Comments

Buying an Engagement Ring Online ?  Five Top Tips!

top 5 tips buying Engagement Rings Online

Top 5 Tips for Buying an Engagement Ring Online and being glad you did!

  1. You must have a reason for Shopping Online.   Face it,  shopping in person for items such as engagement  ring makes sense.   So you have to have a reason why you’d buy it online instead, right?
    • Is it cheaper online?
    • Do you already know the style you want and are now shopping for stone and price?
    • Is the selection better online?
    • Is your fiance far away and online is the way that you both can see what you are buying?
  2. TRUST. Because you cannot see the online merchant, you must make sure you can trust them:
    • How long have they been in business?
    • What credentials do they have?  Verify them.
    • Are they approved by the better business bureau?
    • Do they have a real physical location?
    • Is there any online evidence of scams?
    • Do they have testimonials from real customers that you can verify?
  3. Buy with a credit card that protects you against faulty online purchases. Check with your credit card to verify that you are protected.
  4. Return Policy.  The site should have a return policy.  Also ask that the return policy be emailed to you, in case you have need a paper trail.
  5. Put it all in writing.   Make sure that all the specifics are written down and emailed to you.  Do not assume or take any merchandise until you understand every term.  If a merchant is not willing to do this, then they can’t be trusted.

Emma Parker & Co, an online store for diamond engagement rings and fine jewelry , is our Main Event sponsor this year for the Spring Fashion Events 2013.  Tim Andre, Founder of Emma Parker & Co,  offered  this  gorgeous White Gold Necklace with Citrene Stone ($600).   As a blogger, I received the  Stainless Steel Fumble Bee Cuff Bangle ($89)

still blonde The Chief Blonde Remarks: While I didn’t have an opportunity to try the engagement rings, I was able to experience the service and pleasant one-on-one interaction with Tim Andre, Co-founder of Emma Parker & Co.  Everything he said he would do, he did and on time.  The Bee Stainless cuff bracelet (pictured above) arrived on time, wonderfully packaged and even more wonderful than the picture.  I have wore it everyday since I got it!  I found Emma Parker & Co.’s  website to be easy to navigate and it includes the right elements that help me to start to build that trust relationship with the Emma Parker  brand.

There are some really nice rings online. You can get much better prices too. I’m old school and like to see how they look on me though. 🙂

Great tip on having it all in writing! I hadn’t thought about that. I check them out and look at reviews from other shoppers, but I didn’t think about in writing. Make sure to check over their policies I know and see about returns.

    Good Morning,

I’m from a small town in Wisconsin and was looking at giving my boyfriend Emma Parker and Co’s website to find my engagement ring. I’m very leery in the website, but have had positive interaction with Tim via email. Is this a trusted website to shop from?

I have made many Pinterest albums with Emma Parker & Co statement pieces in them. I find their jewelry so very romantic, in a classical manner. I do worry about shopping for high end jewelry online, but the Emma Parker name comes with a lot of respect in the industry!

While I am not looking at ever getting engaged again in this lifetime (LOL), I appreciate so much these tips. I would definitely buy online, and this sounds like a terrific site, and the tips are common sense but good reminders!

These are all excellent tips. Buying a ring is a big commitment and can be stressful. This is definitely a great article for long distance lovers.
