The Chief Blonde threw a Luau of Love Party for her Wonderful Niece’s Bridal Shower

This 8 foot banner was great for setting the party theme ( Oriental Trading $19.99 similar).

Luau themed parties are too much fun!  You can find decorations all throughout the year, even in dollar stores.  Oriental Trading has a plethora of choices, as do most dollar and party stores.

A basket of leis (50/$19.99 similar ) and flower hair clips (12/$5.99) sets ready for guests on the entry table.

This party was thrown in January, so all the women had a great time getting out their summer Hawaiian clothes and forgetting about the snow outside!  It was a bright lovely day outside but only about 10 degrees!  So all the warmth needed to be inside at the party.

Simple luau inspired napkins ($1.00/package)  provide an inexpensive table decoration, coupled with brightly colored  shells (sold by the bag), and accordion Luau decorations (12/$5.99).

It took awhile to transform the house, but once we were done the 27 guests found the party scene to be a great diversion from the cold outside!

A fireplace is quickly transformed with the help of some bright garland!

Large spaces serve as a great backdrop for garlands and windsocks.  Pictures acted as backdrops for tiki masks. Even the dolls get into the party fun!  

Whether it’s Christmas or a luau, a stairway always provides a great backdrop!

Any space can become an instant tiki bar with the addition of a parrot and some garland hung vertically.  

Guest can join into the theme by providing them with leis and flower hair clips. On the party invitation, encourage them to wear Hawaiian shirts.   

The Luau bridal shower theme can work anytime of year and transforms to any type of party.  Remember to keep your colors loud and bright.  Food should be tropical and colorful.
