Live Like a Lady: A Dyson As Your Downstairs Staff
To facilitate today’s discussion on the Dyson Light Ball Multi Floor Bagless Upright 214580-01, Dyson has provided me with a unit to review.
Do you ever wish you were a lady, like Lady Gratham, in Downton Abbey? I sure the heck do! I think it would so fun to have all that staff to help me with all the chores in life and I could just oversee it all!
Alas, it’s not meant to be for me…at least not at the moment. So I have to do all my own housekeeping. One of the most drudgery chores, in my humble opinion, is vacuuming. My vacuums have always seemed to be so hard to wield and I have to keep bending to get utensils, change carpet heights and am just constantly fiddling with something. An upgrade is what I needed!
Vacuum Like a Lady: Dyson Light Ball Multi Floor Bagless Upright 214580-01
I have never had a upscale vacuum and certainly not a Dyson! I love my choice. I had my Dyson Light Ball Multi Floor Bagless Upright Vacuum 214580-01 out of the box and assembled in 5 minutes (hint: use the little instruction card that comes with it) and it took me about another 10 minutes to put the accessories on (this is mainly due to the fact that I am blonde and menopausal…but that’s a different story).
Before turning the Dyson on, I already saw features I knew I was going to love!
–All the tools are in easy reach and part of the unit
–I don’t have to change hoses or reconnect things to edge the floors, just extend the hose and attach an accessory to the end if I wish
–The cord was nice and heavy
–The dust bin was easy to remove and had a hands-clean chute that easily popped open
–The hoses were long enough to vacuum the stairs without me schlepping the vacuum up and down the stairs (HUGELY important to keep me for feeling like a lady)
Then I powered on the unit! Wowza! I was blown away by the maneuverability. You actually have to try a Dyson, due to it’s use of the ball technology, to comprehend how it can take turns, curves and edges with a one handed flick of your wrist. It’s just so dang easy…I felt like I should have been vacuuming in heels and pearls. There is no comparison to a standard wheeled vacuum which just feels like you are constantly lugging it around.
The next thing I noticed was that as I changed surfaces from wood floor to carpet to rug, I didn’t have to crank any switches on the vacuum. The Dyson just instantly seemed to adjust. I know my husband will love that as he has a bad back and can’t stand bending to adjust the vacuum.
I find the stairs to be one of my biggest vacuuming challenges!
Vacuuming the stairs was as easy as I first thought with the Dyson Light Ball Multi Floor Bagless Upright, I just pulled out the hose, attached the carpet brush and was able to vacuum all the stairs without moving the unit from it’s spot at the bottom of the stairs.
It almost made me sick when I saw how much dust and yuck the Dyson vacuumed up (unlike other bloggers–I won’t be giving you a shot of that–you get it). Obviously my cheaper model was not doing the job it should have been. The Dyson easily picked up fuzz, hair and a few pumpkin seeds (don’t ask).

The Dyson Light Ball Multi Floor Bagless Upright has a lot of great added features and technical things that I am sure you will love too. The one that I like the best is that Dyson upright vacuums have whole-machine HEPA filtration, capturing over 99% of pollen, mold, and bacteria – keeping them trapped in the bin.
But we all know that a vacuum can have a zillion features, but if it doesn’t do the job and improve the task, you either won’t vacuum or even if you do, the job isn’t getting done right. I love my new Dyson…and I can recommend it heartily to you. I might even admit to say I enjoy vacuuming now…like a Lady.

Good vacuums are so important. I hope you aren’t vacuuming today though…it’s No Housework Day, but I do like Dysons. I like the filtration system and how well it picks up. Having the attachments all right there is a wonderful, smart thing. Hope it is still going well for you. Happy Friday!
