Michelle Obama Official Portrait 2013 features the “Mid-Life Crisis Bangs”

Michelle Obama has now confessed WHY she decided to get bangs in a February 19, 2013,  interview with Rachel Ray.  Michelle told Rachel:

“This is my mid-life crisis, the bangs. I couldn’t get a sports car. They won’t let me bungee jump. So instead, I cut my bangs!”

If you remember we blogged about Michelle’s new bangs in our post entitled Hairstyles for Women over 45: Michelle Obama Bangs, How Tos.  The bangs, which have taken on a life on their own appeared right before the Inauguration and her 49th birthday.

This 2013 Photo was released today, February 20, 2013, via official White House sources including via the White House Flicker and the @Flotus twitter feed.  I am quite sure that Michelle Obama will draw widespread praise and criticism as she usually does.  In 2009, the Michelle Obama Official Portrait  “arm” picture drew criticism as some thought Michelle’s well toned arms were too prominently featured.

I posted this article today before critiques were out on the 2013 photo.  I personally like it very much.  I think it is understated, friendly, ladylike and modern.

What do you think of the 2013 photo?  Please comment below!

Which Official Portrait  do you like the best? 2013? 2009? Women over 45 and all our younger friends, let us know.  Please weigh in with your opinions!!  We are dying to know what you think!  Please bear in mind this is a post about FASHION.  It is not political.

I like that the 2013 portrait looks young and approachable, but I like her 2009 one better.

She always looks fabulous. But I do love it when she shows off the “guns”.
